  5. Maybe they have smart phones - but then they could get at the auction site using those They must go round to Joe's to look at them on his computer a few days after, when John has taken the results off his own website! Is that it Joe? Cheers Richard
  6. Me too - all as part of my home insurance - no cataloguing etc. And for insurance purposes, with my home insurer it is not classed as a 'collection' either because it is various artists. They classify a collection as something which has a finite number of items in a set - I dunno, like all of the first press Elvis Presley 45s on Sun. With that kind of collection they say the value increases beyond the sum of the parts if it is complete. Their definition, not mine. I was broken into a few years ago in a previous place when I was in Oxford. They got into my record boxes, which were padlocked, and chucked them around a bit. I claimed on badly damaged items, including things with marks that weren't there before. The insurers were very good, as they basically had to take it on trust where I was claiming reduced value due to scuffing of records etc. They also took Manship's Guide as gospel on my recommendation, because it was a properly published guide with an ISBN number. That was all very helpful, given how pissed off I was that some druggie had kicked in the front window and ransacked my house, and got into my records
  7. Yes, how much please? Also was it a green issue or a WDJ as per the video?
  8. Here's another from when it was big ticket item - think it was Kevin Cox selling it at the time Click on the pic and you can see the condition in real detail Cheers Richard

  11. Actually, never spotted that one myself. Given that the grey issues - local first Detroit issues - and the white DJ copies have the T.M. Parmalier then I guess that was the first one. Unless someone has a grey or white DJ copy with T.M. Parmalier on it? Cheers Richard
  12. Peter - even you can't be that laid back to let that one go! At least tell us a few of the records in the box Cheers Richard
  13. Just googled and found a few - how about this one? "I don't even know what street Canada is on" - Al Capone.

  15. Still looking if anyone can help out please Just PM me Thanks Richard
  16. I know mate - I know Yes, those pics are great! Richard
  17. I lived in Edinburgh for around 15 years and worked in Shotts - commuting over there daily between 1990 and 1996 (if I remember correctly). At the time I was focused on other things and had stopped going to venues and buying rare soul records (and sold a load of stuff ). Consequently, I was totally oblivious about this legendary niter at the time Cheers Richard
  18. Thanks for all the info guys - much appreciated Cheers Richard
  19. Looking for the group line-up and group info of the Tempos on Riley's. Anyone help out please? Have not looked in the usual places and any info gratefully received Cheers Richard
  20. The brilliant TNT Soul Show is on the radio tonight - now until 9:00pm Dean and Jez in the studio Tune in for some great soul music and a few laughs! Online www.tulip-radio.co.uk Or on your smart phone using the TuneIn radio app Cheers Richard
  21. Agreed Chalky Fanzines were very special indeed - not least due to the effort involved - typewriters, photocopying and tippex-ing for earlier prototypes. Plus they were a true education for many including me - went hand-in-hand with the tape-swapping scene as a way of finding out about 'collectors' records that were not played out and about generally. Even doing a discography for a label or artist in those days was a major enterprise. Some of the early mistakes still persist in current day internet discogs where people just do an easy search and cut and paste, without the groundwork. Got any copies of Midnite Express - as well as Shades of Soul and Detroit City Limits I really liked that one? Cheers Richard
  22. Hi Marc Issues are red I believe - you got a scan of a blue one? Cheers Richard
  23. Pure, dead, brilliant That is like a who's who or a what's what of the best in rare northern as far as my own taste goes What does this mean though? George Lemons (feat. Carl Fortnum) - fascinating girl Cheers Richard
  24. Here's another one Looks pretty much like the original in a scan. Richard Click on the image to see a bigger pic
  25. Don't think so - maybe on here - but it happens on eBay all the time
