  1. The Oncoming Times - If you had my love is a great record. Sheryl Swope on lead vocal. This rarely turns up in playable shape, I'm amazed a minty hasn't been snapped up.
  2. Barbara Hall on Tuska The Tomangoes on Washpan The Appreciations on Aware Soul Communicators on Fee Bee
  3. Hi Dave, I'm still haven't put your set list up as I've had trouble deciphering you and Dave's hand writing. I'll put more effort in and get it up and post it up here. And if I could mention some errors - it's Samantha Goldie, not Golding and the show is Boss Action not Boss Sounds. It was fantastic having you both in studio and very generous of you both. Best Samantha
  4. Collectors have an emotional attachment, I think that gets factored into the cost
  5. A 45 that sits in my top 10 of all time soul records!
  6. got mine off here for $7.98 but if you want to splash out.... https://www.musicstack.com/listings.cgi?find=deltones&t=you+don%27t+believe+ilove+you&media=vinyl7
  7. I just love a plain local press, the less information on it the prettier it is to me.
  8. Record collecting has always been a male bastion, so with a scene based on collecting it's not suprising there are more men than women in it. As a collector this has always flummoxed me but it is what it is and I'd rather a DJ was selected on musical merit than gender, as with any field I find the forced upping of the female quoter skewed and sexist. I have to admit as the years have rolled on I dance less because a tune is more than a tune now... it's I want it, I have it, what labels it on, what's this... etc My gender hasn't swayed record deals but I think my location has. Sending a record to Australia get's it out of circulation when it's sold on
  9. Could live the rest of my days without ever hearing these again Judy Street - What Frank Wilson -Do I love you Dee Dee Sharp - What kind of lady Benny Troy - I wanna give you tomorrow Skip Mahoney - Janice
  10. Funny where records turn up, found this locally (in Sydney) for $3 about 15 years ago.
  11. I don't think any 40 year old record can be graded at NM or M, M- should be the highest grade for unplayed records. I also think that if the record is Styrene that it should be stated and for those of us who often want something for the "wrong" side both sides need to be graded.
  12. I agree with this, gift payments to sellers you don't know and trust is just inviting trouble and I always try to avoid it with bigger ticket items, I'd rather just add the 4% and have some security.
  13. damn that's a good price!
  14. What are the signs of a polished record? I've certainly got records that look good but play badly. The idea of making a record look better to the detriment of the sound quality is appalling,
  15. There is no way soul source could enforce a refund policy. Sellers can usually be shamed into doing the right thing for fear of getting a bad rep. My biggest concern is "gift" payments through paypal with private sales as this leaves you with no legal recourse to get your money refunded should the item not match up to it's description.
  16. Pete, I ended up keeping the 45 and getting a partial refund. I did find it strange that they wouldn't take it back because I'd cleaned it. Could this tie in with polishing? What IS polishing?
  17. What is a "polished" record, I've not heard this term before. Sometimes I think collectors on here grade the records they are selling as what they bought them as rather the grade after they've destroyed them with crappy styli and rough handling. I paid 4 figures recently for a record well over graded and when I complained I was told the English and American grading systems were different I was also told I couldn't return it because I'd had it cleaned with a VIP cleaner
  18. Pandella Kelly's version of Stand in for love blows the Ohio Players original version out of the water.
  19. Can't believe Pandella Kelly is still up for grabs, I bought this not too long ago and can't stop playing it!
  20. Thanks guys, sadly so far they are the 45's I own on the label so the holes are still a mystery.
  21. The Chicago label that Judson Moore and Reggie Soul are on.
  22. Hey there, can anyone help me out with a discog of this label please. Thanks in advance Samantha
  23. Another killer cut from a local band
  24. I can't say I ever get bored of my records and I dj 2-4 times a week and do a 2hr radio show weekly. I do suffer from "I've got nothing to play" which really means I've not got anything new in the post. I've sold tunes over the years to buy new ones but it's a fools errand as I always miss them, I've been known to spend ages looking for something thinking it's misfiled only to remember I've sold it on.
  25. The Apaches - just another lazy day $209 only a few days ago, it's a VG copy but for how rare it is and assuming it will play ok... a real bargin.
