New Boots?
Was looking at eBay, and a record I've always wanted but never had the opportunity to buy popped up at the bottom of another search. Clicked on the link, and it's from a seller in Las Vegas - record in question is Skip Jackson. Not sure if it's 100% kosher as he has several represses and custom label presses (ie San Fransican TKOs). So the question is, has Skip Jackson been pressed recently? https://www.ebay.com/sch/vashx22/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

Bootleg - Cashing In - Voices Of East Harlem
That's the 'boot' / reissue / dubious issue.

Jacki Lee Oh My Darlin'
It's not green, someones been messing with the colour on the video.
-
Bootleg - Cashing In - Voices Of East Harlem
label is beige with all print in brown - it does have a have a bell sound stamp (compare it to any other release on the label and it sticks out like a blind cobblers thumb)

Northern Soul Dj......'sets'
Forget DJs, stick a laptop with 10,000 tracks on in the corner and give everyone who attends 3 free plays. Then you'll find the top 100...

I've seen plenty of these over the years. Yet more Manship Bunkum?

Sam Dees On Lolo Booted?
If you look at the sellers other items via Auctiva it gives the name waxwellrecordsamsterdam. There's loads of deep soul 45s of dubious authenticy from Holland, where I'm told there was a Deep Soul scene on par with that of Japan in the 70s.

Northernsoul Fisticuffs
Offensive off topic posts (mainly 'funny' pictures and their responses) deleted. Let's try and keep it enjoyable for all, folks.

The Obscure Sub-Genres Of The Soul Spectrum
Joelbilly - Covers of Billy Joel records in a Soulful Rockabilly style.
-
Jacki Lee Oh My Darlin'
Probably down to the Action label issue.
-
Emmett Long?
At a guess it's the complete lack of publishing and writers credits on the label that Bob is referring to.

Help With A Price Please
I reckon £150 would be fair for a nice clean copy. $400 for VG+ is way over the top IMO.

I Never Found A Girl (To Love Me Like You Do) Question ?
Love the Esther Phillips version - note it also credits Eddie Floyd and co....

Vinyl Disasters: Tales Of Woe :(
Postie would have been shown the same boot the next time he left a parcel on the step.

Vinyl Disasters: Tales Of Woe :(
If you looked through my records you'd realise I'm far from blinkered... and now I'm going to moderate myself for going off topic. Please keep on topic, Thanks. Back on topic, I had a wheeled office chair in my old record room, and the records were piled haphazardly all over the shop. The phone rang, i backed up, a pile of 45s slipped and I managed to run over a handful of them. Damage - couple of cheap motown bits shattered and a mint white demo of Eddie Parker on Ashford with a triangle of vinyl missing from label to the outer edge.

Vinyl Disasters: Tales Of Woe :(
No, quite the opposite - i can hear that it's a rambling dirge. But each to his own.
