Silent But Soulful - Is It Ok?
Well said!! Good records are good records....I often don't listen to a dj rambling, I'm just waiting to the intro to next tune. That said, at 100 club anniversary it made sense to talk a bit but the boys down there don't ramble, just a little intro and bam, next record. Soul Revolution at Chelmsford the mic is used well by Trouble and the crew.

Martin ....Paid £35 for mine about a yr ago (vg only) .... think it's on the rise but $200 ?? Big Jon plays it at Fulbourn Soul Nites when he dj's in the main (and only room)! Phil- Jimmy Raye - Brill Flip
Should be played at a soul night too Patto... if anyone is a dj out there....have the balls to play the flip. People who really enjoy midtempo dancers would love this!! My copy went to a dj (name not given to me but hope he/she plays it!!) Phil 'Double Sider Lover' Rains- Jimmy Raye - Brill Flip
I played it out once on one of my very occasional dj spots Patto.... I never get spots and when i do its early doors (ie a virtually empty hall) So to please me,myself and I its great to play sounds like this. It's fabulous....this sides worth the £500 + on it's own, wish i'd never sold it now. Hope you enjoy Baz A's soundclip... Phil Rains- Marie Knight R.i.p
I feel sad but blessed to have bought and danced to her music.... her recordings were just sensational. Thank you Ms Knight. Think Mr Croasdell and his team will play something for you on Saturday night. Phil xx- Djs On Top Of Their Game ?

A few for sale here ... would consider trades against Nate Evans. All conditions stated, postage £1.50 plus 50p each additional after that. Have a good look, the 1st one for example is a cracking dancer. Too cheap so most dj's unfortunately wouldn't play it. PM me if interested in anything 1 The Fascinations - I'm so lucky/Say it isn't so (UK MOJO APPEARS UNPLAYED IN COMPANY SLEEVE) £10 Top double sider 2 Nate Evans - Main squeeze (TWINIGHT DJ IN VERY STRONG EX CONDITION) £300 3 Jackie Wilson - Chain Gang/ Since you showed me how to be happy (UK MCA M- in beautiful company bag) £10 Flip is diff vocal take of the US release and just as good 4 Ted Taylor - You give me nothing to go on (Okeh w/d in orig company sleeve M-) £25 5 Johnnie Mae Matthews - Love hides all faults (Audrey M-) £20 6 Freddie Scott - I'll be gone (SHOUT stone mint) £25 Killer current spin...stormer ONE LEFT 7 Four Shells - Reputation (Volt vinyl M-, v slt label tear 3/4 inch been coloured in) £20 8 Margo Thunder - Soul of a woman (Capitol M-) £15 9 Geater Davis - My love is so strong for you (M-) £25 ONE LEFT 10 Spaniels - Maybe (Buddah M-) £35 Fabulous dancer 11 Flamingoes - Do it, to it (Phillips Ex++) £15 2 copies available ... Try Ian Clark Baz .... good luck! Phil Rains- Ever Stockpiled A Record ?
Joe Tex ... I wanna be free was one I rated 12 yrs ago. Heard it on a Manship supposed LP only tracks tape and then stumbled on some white demos from Anglo American, so still thought maybe never issued! Bought all 5 copies off him at £3.50 each thinkin I could get £15-£25 for these, then it took four months to shift one. They all went for around £12-£15 max...but it took forever!! I have a couple of others, but that would be telling.... - The Bamboos Featuring Alice Russell
