A/ "On a BOVVERCRAFT" TRUE SKINHEAD FACT:- Christmas 69, the Pyramids played at the CALI in DUNSTABLE, Great night, when the did the MOONHOP my mate Chris G and yours truly were invited on he stage to dance around 4 plastic cups, I can remember the lead singer wearing turned up jeans, braces, T shirt, but he had a pair of naff CLARKS SHOES on? true, turned 2 titles that I bought at the time were SKINHEAD A MESSAGE TO YOU, DOWNTOWN, & SKINHEAD TRAIN, NUBEAT, all thee other records were unknown and not bought by any 69er that I have met in my life, The TORPEEDO TITLE was BOOTED as was CLAUDETES SKINHEAD A BASH EM! GRAPE, original copys are very rare Today, the TORPEEDO record is never worth more than £50 trust me and buy the BOOT, Q/ "what do SKINHEADS have for breakfast?" A/ REGGAY BRECK!. Q/what do the RUDEBOYS have? A/ RASS CRISPIES! DAVE K

HI ALL...ACTION UK.Is without doubt a must collect soul label, and you can hardly go wrong when you see a record on the ACTION LABEL, so buying blind, will not be a let down, history of the label is easy to find on the net, and all the 45s are on CD, Only a couple or so 45s are over £100, but as shown can be found in good nic under, EDDIE HOLMANS great 45, "I surrender", is the genuine rare record, however in recent years, many other ACTION 45s have become in demand, "take it baby" is and always been rare, as are all DEMOS, (ARE OF FAKES), As a DEMO the EDDIE HOLMAN is about £125 minty, well that's I want for my DEMO copy. In defence of the record mentioned with the big price tag, I feel that many people who have cash will buy top records, not me as if I spend £50 on a record it hurts, but trust me it will be a top tune in every which way & some DAVE K

HI PETE I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED THIS DOWNLOAD, IT REMINDS ME THAT I WAS ONCE THE YOUTH CLUB DJ BACK IN THE 7ts, as such I turned a lot of people on to RARE SOUL, All are like yourself still very much into soul, it is a good feeling when someone tells you that you were the person who introduced them to th scene, even more so if they come from the HOME COUNTIES as there was nobody else doing this, back then, it's a big shame that the YOUTH CLUB CULTURE has gone? HI ALL.. When IAN L compiled the SOLID SOUL SENSATIONS PYE LP, I set myself the task of getting all the titles on 45, the rarest to find was JACK MONTGOMARY. Why any of the releases should fetch more than the JM does not make sense to me as they are all worth getting, but not at inflated prices of this latest sale DAVE K

HI ALL....What can I say...nothing will take away the pain of this situation, no matter we all say on SOULSOURCE, The issues that the loss brings up, are heart breaking to say the least, 33 years ago, my box was stolen at St Ives All-nighter, never got them back, even though 10 people had know the thief and saw the theft? gutted is not the word I used at the time, hope that they would turn up, proved to be wishful thinking, also it did not stop record dealers buying them, THE BEST ADVICE I WOULD GIVE IS THIS, TRY O STOP INTERNALISEING THE NIGHT, TRY AND ACCEPT THEY ARE GONE ASAP, AND START AGAIN DON'T GIVE UP DAVE

HI ALL You are dead right TOADY BOY, However this situation has rattled me so often, and I still don't no the answer to the apathy of the scene, apart from the increased use of alcohol on our scene, which makes many people depressed, oh how sad the scene has become, at this rate the end is nigh, not for me I have enough chunes to last a life time, many are not played today as they are northern soul records, that means they are ideal for dancing, and you can't dance pissed up, Still we can't all be on the DEX CAN WE? HI ALL.....On reading through this thread on CHARLES MINTS & DELIGATES OF SOUL, IT IS HARD TO GAGE, Or indeed see the point as answers are sketchy to pick up any gist, However DAVE W was right to mention CHALES MINTZS OTHER RECORDINS,,,"SINCE I FOUND YOU" Is one of my favourite tunes from the EAST SIDE of the USofA, I got my copy 20+ years ago, along with 10 other classic 45s, including FRANKIE & JOHNNY, HESSITATIONS DEMO,& CANDI STATTONS CLASSIC "THE UPPER HAND" My copy of "since I found you" is the 1st issue, and I used to sell the DOS at the OLD VIC for £10 all my copy's I have had come from MICK SMITHS GREAT HAUL from a US TRIP, (thems the days) all my copy's had the glasses logo, this is what I need to no what is the price difference with or without glasses logos? anyone DAVE K MY COPY

HI ALL..I used to have a complete listing for all the EMI LABELS 45's for SOUL SUPPLY & DISCOTEQUE 66, 67 SERIIES, NOW LONG GONE! Has any one got a coy of the list that I can have, also any info on the story behind the series? and any memorabilia associated with the releases? a big ask, but will pay for any real obscure stuff, DAVE K

HI ALL....Did we not discuss JOHN FORD, Just a few months back?? As to value the DEMO falls into a)finding a copy that's gonna b passed on, b)demand is far greater than virtually all other UK ONLY RELEASES, c)it's a trade only 45 in my book, as cash does not always buy things you want. How rare is rare? well it took MICK SMITH a long time, that is my bench mark to work off, as he has top contacts, Pete's values are out of date and I am sure at auction he would get far more today, however someone out in SOULSOURCE WORLD could be lucky as not every one is aware of it's low known numbers, if I got rid of my demo, I would want an issue plus cash or a trade, if pushed cash value £500+ DAVE K
