Northern Soul - What Are The Worst Mixes?
Precisions "I Wanna Tell My Baby" on D-TOWN. Superb tune, but the mixing/mastering leaves a lot to be desired.

Anyone Know Anything About This Off Anglos List?
The record you won is not the record on Anglo Americans list. Allison and Calvin Turner released at least three 45s on the LuLu label. I haven't heard the "Everytime I'm Near You" track.

Darius Aka Bobby Jo Ott Hello Stranger
Thanks for the podcast link, will download and listen!

Darius Aka Bobby Jo Ott Hello Stranger
Yes it's on a 45 on the Chartmaker label: His 45 as "Bobby Joe Ott" was issued on Metromedia. He also issued a nice (and expensive!) psych LP on Chartmaker which includes the superb "Shades Of Blue". Here's the LP:

Ace Spectrum
There are no convincing reissues of this 45 as far as I'm aware. All the copies I've seen with "stereo" printed on the right side are pressed on styrene (and should be avoided on that basis, in my opinion) and the ones with "stereo" on the lower left side are pressed on vinyl. Then there are all sorts of demos, test pressings etc. A good selling record at the time of release which was pressed at several different pressing plants in the US, hence several different label variations to be found out there.

Grey And Hanks
GREAT DUO and pretty much all of their release are worth picking up. I like all tracks already mentioned but also check out "Gotta Put Something In" and "Love's In Command", superb modern soul dancers both of them.

Lps On Ebay: Ramp, Younghearts, Deirdre Wilson Tabac, Chiffons
Only about 4-5 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking! :-)
-
Art Freeman
As with many other major label 45s, the Art Freeman 45 was pressed at many different pressing plants around the US at the same time for different regional markets (instead of pressing all 45s at one plant and then shipping them out to all parts of the US). There are many variations of original Art Freeman 45s out there.

Billy Stewart
Just pulled out "Sitting In The Park" and gave it a spin for the first time in years. Superb tune!

I'll Be Around - G. Washington
Which Atac copy have you got? ATAC 102 or ATAC 7823? I just want to rule out whether one of the Atac releases has got better sound quality than the other. I see above that the ATAC 7823 label states the timing as 2:02 while the Mala copy states 2:32.

About two days left on these auctions now.

I'll Be Around - G. Washington
I remember reading that the sound quality on Mala copies is better than on Atac copies. Is this true? And if it is true, is it true for BOTH Atac releases?
