Tommy Payton - Mountain Of Soul
I really like that one. Nice psyched-out kind of sweet soul. Have never seen an issue copy either.

Manship
It's been selling for £150-£250 for quite a while now, but £457 is "a bit much".

Wanted. Alan Harris - Get Ready
No, sorry. It sold on October the 11th of 2006 and had item #200033980268 but eBay only archive auctions for about 90 days. I was the second highest bidder and it was in VG+ condition. Really wish I had bid higher... I have the 12", but it kind of "gets lost" among my LPs so seldom play it. Both sides are great though!

Wanted. Alan Harris - Get Ready
That's ridiculous. The latest copy of the 7" that sold on eBay (only a bunch of months ago) went for about $75.

Heaven & Earth : Super Rare Modern Soul
"No Limit" was issued as the b-side to "Guess Who's Back In Town" on MERCURY 74013 in 1978. That's the 7", don't know if there's a 12" or if it was included on any LP.

Ascots On American Playboy
Don't bring "The Snake" into this. It's a decent tune, but has got tricky beat and is a bit moody, so usually brings the mood down. That's all I'm saying.

Folk/soul Crossover
That's an amazing album in my opinion and her other recordings from about the same time are also great.

Ascots On American Playboy
It indeed works great as a dancefloor-clearer and all-around party-killer unless the crowd you're playing to have heard it a couple of times at home first...

Danny White
About £15-£25. Nut much interest in it despite being a superb tune. Vinyl DJ copies might fetch more than a styrene issue copy.

The Miracles,shop Around,local Detroit 1st Issue,scan Wanted Please
The labels are the same on both the "slow" and "fast/hit" versions of this tune. The difference is in the matrix numbers! On the 45 where the scans are from, the scratched in matrix numbers on the "Shop Around" side are: H-55518-A2 Your copy seems to be different. That's where the problem is. The only way you'll get the "slow" version on a Tamla copy, is to find one with H-55518-A2 as the matrix numbers on the "Shop Around" side. Good luck digging!

It's Been A Boring Easter, No Soul
If anyone has got two copies of this 45, I'll take the second one.

"house For Sale" Reissue On Kent
The vocal takes on the Demon LP and Truth 45 version of "Midnight Affair" are definitely different and I will demonstrate it by posting an MP3 clip below where I've taken the same section (1:08-1:18) from first the 45 version and then the LP version (the backing track play at the exact same speed on both versions). Listen to the way she holds the "oooohh" wail on the different takes, on the first one she holds right through it and on the second there's a dip halfway through it. And "affair" is pronounciated very differently on the two takes. There are even different lyrics, in the clip from the 45 Sandra sings "we're gonna have a midnight", in the clip from the LP she sings "talkin' 'bout a midnight". Have a listen.

Mr Croasdell Does It Again - New Batch Of Kent 45's Must Have's
Nice to finally see Other Brothers "Nobody But Me" get a legitimate 7" release. Top tune!

Main Ingredient - Help Wanted
"Evening Of Love" was issued on 12" and 7" as well.

"house For Sale" Reissue On Kent
I agree with the whole "it could be the mastering" that makes the Millie Jackson tune sound different but: The LP and 45 versions of Sandra Wright's "Midnight Affair" are definitely different takes. The vocal phrasing is different and no mastering job could've affected that.

Chris Clark - Do I Love You
It would really, really surprise me if a genuine issue or demo copy of this exists. Here's what "The Complete Motown Singles Vol. 6: 1966" has to say about it:

I'd also really like to hear especially his 45s on Skylark and Dodson which I've seen sell for considerable sums in the past. I have no idea what they sound like. Deep? Uptempo? Crap? Soundclips anyone?

Wallace Johnson
Definitely one of the harder Sansu 45s but still quite cheap when it turns up. Superb tune!

Suffering City
No, it's just faster, not better...

Tommy Dodson
Congrats! Monster tune and a very hard 45 to locate.

Cracked 45s
Stick them on eBay with high quality sound clips taken from the 45s and state exact condition of the 45s and let people make up their own minds. I'm sure you'd sell some of them.

70's Motown Day
I was pretty sure I would have that slung back at me... But I have to say that I really, really do dislike "I Can Feel The Pain" and "Sorry Is A Sorry Word". It's the vocal that puts me off. "I Remember When" on the other hand is a truly beautiful track. But it wouldn't be fun if we all agreed on everything. There are some nice unreleased Ivy Jo tunes though. Yep, sure does.
