  1. The NITE LIFE label was definitely from Los Angeles. Just found this in an issue of Billboard from 18 June 1966:
  2. I can find no indications at all that NITE LIFE was a label from New Orleans or Louisiana. In fact, everything points to the label being from Los Angeles/California. NITE LIFE 70000 - California Dreamers - We Belong Together / One Night Stand NITE LIFE 70001 - Willie Wade - When Push Comes To Shove / Come Into My World NITE LIFE 70002 - The Jades - I'm Where It's At / Mother's Only Daughter NITE LIFE 70003 - The Night People - They Don't See You / The Shadow Is My Soul NITE LIFE 70004 - The Dept. Of Sanitation - Just A Good Show / Don't Ever Leave Me Night People were definitely from Los Angeles. California Dreamers were supposedly from California. And taking the YouTube comments on board from the daughter of the guitarist of The Jades... they were also from Wilmington in California. How Willie Wade fits into all of this I don't know. Does anyone have a scan of the 45 on MODE?
  3. That's norwegian actually. The label on the swedish one, although extremely similar, states "Made in Sweden". Three different picture sleeves for Sweden, Denmark and Norway for "Reflections" as well. Yours should have this sleeve: Denmark: Sweden:
  4. I've had loads of dutch 45s over the years with their centres intact. Most of them actually now when I think about it.
  5. Don't know if this will clear things up or confuse things even more... but check out this YouTube page: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp1VUid5Ppc It is the flipside to The Jades "I'm Where It's At" called "Mother's Only Daughter". A user called "MrMrsSalBanuelos" has commented: "This song was made by my dad's band called the Jades. They were from Wilmington, CA. Robert Munoz is singing, my dad played guitar."
  6. No, it has to have NCB on the label to be swedish, danish or norwegian. I think that it is from Holland. Check if it has got "670" machine stamped anywhere in the run-out groove, if it does it is definitely from Holland and distributed/manufactured by Polygram/Polydor.
  7. I really like their version of "Together Till The End Of Time" as well.
  8. Has anyone got any info about this 45? Spice Of Ice - Joy To The World / Does Anybody Know - KICKBACK It's from 1978, but that's pretty much all I know. I've been spinning it quite a bit as of late, but has it had any plays elsewhere? Actually, is it known at all? I've not seen any mention of it anywhere. Will be listing it on eBay soon, just wanted to find out some more info about it if possible.

unknow 11 : Eddie Simpson - Big Black Funky Slave unknow 17 : Crack Of Dawn - How Many Times unknow 18 : Barrett Strong - Is It True unknow 19 : Lawrence Payton - Tell Me You Love Me unknow 20 : Marboo - What About Love
  10. The movie is on YouTube as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOqn-I5u1MY&wide=1 Preview sure was an "interesting" label!
  11. Haven't seen any mention of this on here, but it might be of interest to some of you. A documentary about Mel Cheren and West End Records called "The Godfather Of Disco" turned up on YouTube a couple of days ago. Well worth a look:
  12. Anyone can print STEMRA, BIEM, SABAM or NCB on a label without clearing any rights. So that alone doesn't make a record legit.
  13. Only 2-3 hours to go on this batch of auctions now: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  14. About 3 days to go on these auctions now! https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html
  15. Perhaps it's just my copy? Very low sound and lots of crackling. Might be from the end of the pressing run, but it is regardless pressed with very low volume.
  16. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://www.ebay.com/...ushkings/m.html Thanks for looking! Take care. /Sebastian
  17. Fantastic track! A real pity though that the sound quality on the Numero 45 is godawful. The CD sounds good though!

It usually goes for about £5. Maybe £10 in M- condition.
  19. I might ofcourse be wrong, and it seems like Ady confirmed above that it is the same vocalist on both tracks. But I personally doubt it. I have listened to the lyrics and unless the lyrics are about gay marriage and lesbian love it makes no sense that it is a woman singing the Ripple Blast Singers version. The lyrics have been changed quite a bit compared to the Barbra Streisand version.
  20. Surely it's a guy singing "Sadie Sadie"?
  21. The difference between the bootleg and the original is in the ink on the label. Brown/green is ORIGINAL. Black/green is BOOTLEG. ORIGINAL: BOOTLEG:
  22. Didn't the picture sleeve alarm you? Very few UK 45s were released with picture sleeves in the 60's.
  23. It sold for £35.
  24. Great movie. Well worth catching. Misses out on a quite a big part of his real history (for example I don't think that his 45 on Impact is even mentioned), so a bit flawed from a "documentary" point of view, but still a very nice piece of work. I love Rodriguez material, both of his LP's on Sussex are very good, especially the second one ("Coming From Reality"). It's a swedish guy that directed the movie so it has been getting lots of exposure here in Sweden. Quite amazing that it's been nominated for an Oscar, and even more amazing that Rodriguez career has gone, if not from 0, then from 5 to 100 in a couple of months. The attention his music is getting is well deserved and long overdue.
