  1. Manship's guide claims that it was issued both as LE MANS 002 and LE MANS 004. The only release I've ever seen has got catalogue number LM-004. It might just be a bit of confusion though as the labels states the matrix/master numbers as OM-001 and OM-002. Can anyone please throw up a scan of the LE MANS 002 release if it exists? Some scans of the LE MANS 004 demo and issue (NOTE the matrix/master numbers on the labels):

Interestingly written and arranged by Doc Bagby. THE Doc Bagby? Didn't know he was active that late into the 60s (early 70s?).
  4. I think the oddest thing is that the "guide price" for the Hannibal 45 is £30. It's not easy to locate copies of.
  5. Wouldn't mind a MK4 myself. Still haven't found one.
  6. Probably less than that. Winfield Parker's "I Wanna Be With You" is one of the best uptempo 70s soul records ever in my opinion. Craig Moerer sold a M- copy on eBay two days prior to mine(!) for $22.50. He's got stock of it at $60 each. I just got really lucky with that recent copy of mine. There were 2 bidders battling for it between $20 and $300. Then a third bidder came in towards the end and sniped it for $305. Who knows what his maximum bid was? There were some other 45s in that auction round that also went for unusually high prices that I'm surprised that you haven't picked on yet (Side Effect, Jackie Hines, Sylvia Striplin etc.).
  7. I need an original issue of this record (5444A in the runout groove, NOT 5544A). If anyone has got a copy for sale, please PM me with price and condition. Thanks in advance.
  8. The buyer payed within an hour. He's a regular customer of mine and bought 20+ other 45s in this auction round as well.
  9. THANKS! This was driving me mad. I knew that I used to have these tunes on a 45 in the past.
  10. Don't know if it's common knowledge, but there's another Jonathan Capree 45 as well. Not in the same league as the OX BOW release, but "To Be Free" is a decent quirky mod dancer...
  11. Only 1-3 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking! :-)

  13. Probably pressed the same day (or at least same week) but at different pressing plants.
  14. Probably because it was her last 45 on Warner Bros for the next three years (she just did one more 45 on WB, in 1968). Her last Warner Bros LP, "Softly, The Brazilian Sound", was issued in 1964. I think that in 1965 by the time that "Don't Pity Me" was released they didn't know how to market her and were glad to terminate her contract (or at least put it on "hold"). The TV gig was most likely just a routinely scheduled thing or a last-minute promotion push to try to get her career jumping again.
  15. Your copy is on styrene. The scan above is from a vinyl copy.

I've always found it strange that "I Don't Have The Time To Love You" was the side that got spins considering its slow pace. As far as dancefloor fodder goes I much prefer the pounding flipside "Don't Use Me": /more/soul-library/george-jackson-dont-use-me A superb double-sider in any case!
  17. I'm glad you like the tunes, Adi!
  18. The original white demo was pressed on styrene. The bootleg white demo was pressed on vinyl.
  19. Tommy, Val, Biggray: Thanks for letting me know that you liked the mix! It was a pleasure putting it together and it's always nice to know if someone else is enjoying the selections.

    A couple of recent eBay prices: 2009-11-09 - $570 (M-) 2009-11-09 - $300 (VG+, buy-it-now) 2009-10-21 - $400 (M-)
  21. Amazing record! Very few known copies in my experience.

No, that's a different tune. The Howard Peters track is just called "Soulville". I really like the other Howard Peters 45 on Coral "Tighten Up The Slack". Here's Chuck Edwards:
  23. Thanks for your comments, Melismo! I'm glad you enjoyed the selection.
  24. There were four different bidders that bid over £150 in this particular auction.
