  1. whats the deal with this label? i've seen various tunes over the yrs: Bobby Diamond, Vibrations, Poppies etc. is it a legit pressing or a dreaded 'boot' ?
  2. just tried to find the auction but it seems to have gone. what was the final selling price? I saw a bootleg of this tune fetched 50 odd quid. nice one Tone, keep searchin mate.

  4. Rita & the Tiaras on Destiny is ? a: legitimate b: Bootleg I have no idea, hence the question
  5. Nice one Mark !! chuffed to bits for ya mate
  6. ermmm. im lost now. mine is a demo, with the UV5134 in the deadwax, slightly raised edge, dull label colouring, but not really thin (the Carl Carlton of mine is the same thickness) .......... the problem lies ( me usually) with the 'trust' factor when buying. I bought mine as a def original, but these kind of things throw it all into turmoil ! I'm no expert, so ignorance/inexperience on my part has probably cost me a few bob. onward and upwards
  7. now them's surreal moments I only have one..... Womack & Womack at Nottm Royal centre...... both sitting on the stage spouting a load of bollocks. possibly the worst gig i'd ever witnessed. or Edwin Starr in the early 80's at Yarmouth scooter rally . changed the lyrics to his tune 'smooth' " Smoooooooooth , the SCOOTER is smooth" a surreal (or cringeworthy) moment indeed
  8. i'll take the Tymes please if still available

  13. is it a record you'd buy because you like it, or because or its rarity/demand/desirability ? https://cgi.ebay.com/TIMI-YURO-Itll-never-over-me-UK-Northern-soul-7-/150625478592?clk_rvr_id=246224841619&autorefresh=true personally its not one of my faves. if i had a grand to spend on a tune, i coud think of others id choose. anyway, what about you lot ?

  17. Cheers Andy. I was flattered to be able to play at Brid. I avoided the usual suspects like Willie Mitchell, Richard Temple, Denise Lasalle etc. but you need to get feet on dancefloors as far as im concerned, so i kinda played it safe with a few classics and some 'not so hammered' tunes thrown in meantime, i'll keep spending..... a nice Lynn Randell CBS is headed my way, hope to give that an airing somewhere soon
