  1. it was always cheap
  2. i know my label does plain white "promos" to give away which others then on sell as "tests"
  3. if these guys are coming to Prestatyn as the Dynamics, maybe y'all should be billing them as the Lienamics
  4. apparently the ''stock" boot/2nd press is on pale blue as well as pale green but i haven't seen that myself
  5. As far as I've been able to piece together from research. Original Dynamics on Big Top/Dynamic/Reprise/Top Ten/Laurie Fred "Sonny" Baker, Sterling "Starling" Schafer, Lorenzo Campbell, Samuel Stevenson, George White. Dynamics on RCA Fred Baker, Zeke Harris, Lorenzo Campbell, Samuel Stevenson, George White, Zerben Hicks Dynamics on Cotillion Fred Baker, Zerben Hicks, Samuel Stevenson, George White Dynamics on Black Key/Columbia Fred Baker, Thomas "Skip" Windburn, George White, Zerben Hicks. Current Dynamics (uncertain how a group with no members from any recording period is legally the Dynamics in 2016?) Fred Williams, Carnell Butler, Sonny James, Gregory Roberts
  6. it's the photo, it's white.
  7. maybe different Dynamics?
  8. has been pressed up eleven times by the label, it was definitely played for a minute there.
  9. it will be the horns intro, as far as i know, all 201 white label & yellow labels are the horns intro i did not know about this boot, wonder which version this is?
  10. this one can be pretty confusing, here is, i hope, a simple definitive rundown as best as i know. so there are 2 label numbers, 200 & 201, two different versions. The one with extra horns intro & extra "claves" or trigger triangle (hard to tell, could be a faux claves just hitting a couple pieces of metal together or could be a trigger triangle) (to basically differentiate it) which isn't on Youtube & the one without horns (piano/drums intro) on the intro. 200 (b/w The Love I Found In You) White label (piano intro, deadwax SP1) Red label (piano intro, deadwax SP1) Red label (horns intro, deadwax 20079-2) 201 (b/w Things Ain't Right) White label (horns intro, deadwax 20079-2) Yellow label (horns intro, deadwax 20079-2) The box set issue is the piano intro version.
  11. looks good to me, deadwax should tell you which version it is
  12. i was playing "I'm A Love Maker" a little bit a few years ago, good record. I feel like I pass by the Mr Chand 45 reasonably often without even thinking of picking it up.
  13. both versions are available on red label, only way to tell the difference is the deadwax.
  14. not a lookalike at all, totally different label for the box set 45.
  15. sometimes i wish i had a time machine, for real
  16. Just to correct some misinformation in this & the other therads Came out twice on 45. First press 1954 Chess 1566 No Place To Go/Rockin Daddy Second press 1959 Chess 1744 The Natchez Burning/You Gonna Wreck My Life There is also an alternate take with more harmonica
  17. very looking forward to this
  18. Just heard via his brother James Gaylyn that Nate Neblett passed away last Sunday. http://obituaries.invocare.com/tribute/details/385/Nathaniel-Neblett/obituary.html
  19. The Anderson Brothers, Dennis & Bobby, still in NJ, still singing as The Anderson Brothers. Dennis is also in The Coasters.
  20. Of course the Alvin Robinson is earlier than the Stones. Keith Richards "Back in the Five By Five [EP] days when we were recording at Chess in Chicago and RCA in Hollywood we used to go down to the local record stores, buy up a whole bunch of soul singles, sit down by the record player and learn 'em: things like Oh Baby We Got a Good Thing Goin', Down Home Girl and lots of old Otis Redding stuff, and then record 'em as quickly as possible."
