  6. Scratchy was also massive in the late 70s as were a flood of revival records like Brookes and Jerry, Little Hank, and this One other record I bought from Mary Boylan, but I never found out where it first got played was this: Was it a TW record? Ed
  7. I was born in 61, so I first heard Scratchy probably on its first revival around 78. Like something from pulp fiction but deffo a unique sound. Ed
  8. Left field? Scratchy is out on its own....brave dj who spun this first! Ed
  9. I never heard 'stanky' until about ten years ago! At SITS Tenerife. No idea when that was first played. Catchy toon though, and plenty on the dancefloor. Ed

  11. Incredible really...drove from red hot Donny for fish and chips at the leaking boot and it was bleeding 10 degrees colder and very windy.. Still good for those big kite guys. And as always, best chippy in cleggy! Ed
  12. Today at cleggy.. Ed
  13. Well one thing is for sure...after the Mecca closed in 79, there was at least one revival night in maybe 81 or 82 as a bus load from Donny including me went to it. Good chance NHALSG was played that night:) Ed

There is an element of economics justification involved when for example a large entry fee is asked and you get a lappy linked to a sound system, with a DJ who simply scrolls the list of what comes on next....i suppose. But if it's a cheap as chips entry fee, I guess you can't complain. Ed

Ummm You have an original copy of say Wanted and needed....and you have a boot. One is 5 grand, and one is 50 quid. Must be tempting to play the boot and display the original? They will both wear out eventually! Ed

If there is any chance whatsoever of the writer / singer of said rare original vinyl getting a royalty, it won't be from any of the sales over the years of the rare original vinyl, or plays thereupon.... I hold more respect for the artists and writers than I do for somebody simply because they have a ton of rare vinyl. Inevitably some folks will buy a super rare collection, and probably never appreciate the blood sweat and tears the seller went through to get it. Does that diminish the new owners credibility? It does in my opinion. Good job we are not all the same. OVO has its devotees, and good luck to them. Ed
  18. You just wanna dive in ! Ed
  19. Got that wrong then:) Ed
  20. It was a mecca sound. I heard it from a sales tape around 77 along with Marvin Sease, The Heartstoppers, fifth amendment etc. Bought the lot.......sold them all ten years later. Ed
  21. Anybody know if ES as a flip got airplay around the release date in Detroit? Would have been great if both sides were played on the local radio shows. Ed
  22. In and around Coniston.. Ed
  23. Was released on Soul City, so must have been played back in the day... I like this one better, more life to it: Better guitarist than singer though:) Ed
