The Northern soul scene has always been a freindly place I have never cared how anyone dances and I ,m sure nobody cares how I dance . The notion that people lack the confidence to get up I dont get and in itself is a sad indictment of the scene if people feel like they have to fit in . These so called dance teachers are exploiting peoples insecurity supported by the inacurate media portrayals of athletic baggy wearing dancers and the myth that there was /is a heirachy on the floor . They are no part of a Northern soul scene that I want to be connected to .

Ive said this before but if middle aged people did,nt have it first time around tough titty what makes them think they,ve got it it now , very very sad

Its done by that Fiona woman that only dances to the tune in her head and not the actual record and still wins contests FFS .

Hardly creative is it some one with a drum machine and shouting WAHEY every few seconds its just lazy and does nothing to enhance the music .

Music should be played how it was originally presented anything less than that compromises the integrity of the scene . If a track isnt good enough then it should stand or fall by its merits no amount of twiddleing or tweaking is realy going to improve it .

A sad loss RIP

Happy Christmas I am at work at present and allready had an idiot put his head through a window in A&E roll on new years eve .

Saw the Live version at the Octagon it was insipid and pointless . Northern soul meets Mama Mia .

This play is the best representation ever of our scene , made with passion , love and humour and it shows in every scene . The first night at the Contact was electric . The second time I saw it also at the Contact I took my daughter on leaving she said " Now I understand you better " Thanks Paul

Been trying to catch up with all the Stafford stuff for a while these podcasts are fantastic I never realised just how diverse the playlists were some amazing tunes . Thanks for posting these up
