  1. R I P ROD Once saw a band advertised playing at a local working mens club in the mid seventies , thought they sounded like a soul band type group but decided to give it a miss the band was Johnnie Wilders Chicago Heatwave who later became just Heatwave .
  2. That playlist sounds like one these Northern Soul cds that will be appearing around November for Christmas , some of those records played were overplayed oldies in the seventies.
  3. Got admit Pete Bluetooth seems to be one of the most annoying things I have come across but a bit of perseverance usually pays off . Good luck .
  4. Bluetooth can be a bit temperamental I would assume you managed to pair your 2 devices if so give it another try .
  5. Bluetooth headphones Pete ?
  6. Most of the music I play at home is now streamed mainly from Spotify . Cannot remember the last time I played any vinyl my collection is in limbo, and I am also finding that my cds are gathering dust now. I find it so easier to stream music, I cannot be bothered to go through the f**k about with vinyl especially, all I do now is stream off the laptop to my Bose speaker and that's enough for me at this moment in time. Technology rules OKEH !
  7. Phillip Mitchell is on the CD '' You Better Believe It ! '' a Warner Music UK CD from 2004 . The O'Jays track is on the '' Best Of Northern Soul Volume 1 '' Goldmine GSCD 187
  8. Talking a lot and saying nowt comes to mind.
  9. Yes mate , cd only.
  10. Tammi Terrell
  11. Could you post up some YouTube clips of Northern Soul U.S. style I would be interested to know what type of soul music this is , I know what Southern Soul is and sounds like . Never once in my 60 years have I heard the terminology referred to any type of soul music in the U.S. , Northern Soul just been a title given to a wide spectrum of uptempo soul music played in the UK.
  12. The one who went missing looked like he had a swollen eye , probably went off to get attention , no subs in those days

  14. Pleasant enough record but more of a bride and groom wedding smooch song than a soul record to my ears .
  15. When this comes on it always reminds me of a Gilbert O'Sullivan record .
  16. It is not on the London label though is it Glen it is a bootleg and done by stupid bootleggers at that.
  17. Thanks for sharing the information that this record plays 'JJ Barnes' instead of 'Darrell Banks' , if anyone bought it and did not like the 'Barnes' version they could frame it I suppose
  18. Love to see GLENSOULSOUNDS reply to the revelation of the answer to his question.
  19. This topic has fu**ked my calendar up I keep thinking April the first has been and gone
  20. People do want to buy them and till the market drops this activity will continue , these sort of boots though con no one I suppose and it is just a sideshow to the scene that most people on here relate to.
  21. Sounds like Timi , but I would have thought if this information was mentioned on back of LP sleeves it would be a well known fact to fans of hers and would be mentioned in Timi Yuro bios.
  22. I get that too Ian, but after seeing so many of our artists make nothing at all and leave the industry broke and disillusioned , to see someone like Candi still in the business after all these years makes me happy and good luck to her and the other survivors.
  23. Made a few more recordings to help pay her bills maybe ? just because we think it does not fit in with our image of a soul singer, making money is what a professional artist is all about.

If he takes that he has got a good deal out of a bad one I get the feeling though it will be declined .
