I'm not bothered who covers whatever song, it's the quality of the cover that interests me. I like wholesome music, not homogeneous, insipid snoozefests.

Thanks for posting Mike, I'm afraid I only got a few bars into this, the plastic production and insipid band is frankly an insult to any of the 60's muscle Shoals productions, just saying, for a friend🫣😂

It was big at soul function and other upfront event's ten years ago. He was Jimmy pages first choice for vocalist with the new yardbirds, who went onto be Zeppelin, so definitely a rock singer.

Speaking to folk over the weekend it's seems we have a real buzz on this one, capacity is limited to around 200, advice is be early people. We're trying to offer a little something different here, not only musically but in terms of venue this isn't a local working mens club, its an underground basement night club, with a state of the art sound system, that should create an unbelievable atmosphere on the night.

Mace mentioned a tape I used to have around 87, I think mini used to knock them out at nighters. It had magnetics, Paris, ray Agee and a host of other big rarities from the era, very influential on myself and others who were youthful at the time. Anyone got a scan with track listing, also who did it? It was just called rare soul 1, I think.

Less than two months to go for this first foray of the gathering. New venue that harks back to our gis of our scene, an underground basement with a cool courtyard and upstairs bar. Lots of buzz about this on social media and with the line up we've selected it's not surprising.
