  1. Fair point of view, it does beg the question, why the interest in the tread then?
  2. A great informative read, be interesting to see a UK guide.
  3. Think you hit the mail on the head here. It's the lack of central venues that causes the problem of tagging a record to a dj. There is just no cohesion anywhere on whats left of the scene. It just seems like lots of factions all pulling in different directions.
  4. Fantastic and very Worthy idea. Hope it does really well.
  5. Mace did a nice run of NS themed ones a while back. Might be worth contacting.
  6. The jack Ashford album should be of interest. The freemont street track is wonderful. Would love a copy of that.
  7. in fairness, yes its inferior, but its a better Jackie Wilson impersonation than you'd get out of most singers.
  8. Production is awesome on that, esp for a smallish label.
  9. thats the one Kev. Happy Xmas to you and yours Kev.
  10. am I right in saying these used to be the Ethics? or was that another salsoul group
  11. this is THE track by them for me.
  12. Think it's an overhang from dance dj culture. It never seemed to be around in the 80' s to the same extent, pre the impact of house.
  13. But harsh, IMHO. You get piss heads everywhere.
  14. Proper good that. Love it
  15. Think he makes some very valid points and you shouldn't be put of with the terminology. Though, I too, can't tolerate anyone who calls refers to records as..... Can't say it. .
  16. I wonder how many would be truly passionate about soul if they didn't collect? Maybe the passion is for collecting records rather than music in many cases.
  17. I'd say Northern soul on original labels are relatively cheap compared to the 70"s values.
  18. cheers dude, daddy's Favourite, have it on a white somewhere
  19. No it was later than than that, but I am a big Victor simoneli fan so thanks for reminding me of his genius, early nineties he was the man
  20. Yeah, cause it is. Cheers pal. Need to do some diggin to find that house thing now. Have in a crate somewhere.n
  21. What the break stolen from people? It was used on a house tune that was massive in the late 90' s bugging me.
  22. it would only be ruined if you played it on a sandpaper slipmat.
  23. Couple of old digs, come to mind. First would be Vinyl exchange, Camden town around 1987. The basement was full of singles, in the region of 10k most without sleeves, many 10-50p. Loads of Motown, tune up british x2, one way out British, nothing to good good for my baby, British, ECT. Bought loads of imports blind lots of c and w, a couple of bits that later turned out to be interesting. Good education for me.
