100 Club To Close By Xmas
It was the most exciting place in the world for me up until it closed in 1981 to be honest Pete .I never thought of it as a dump either [ apart from the toilets of course ] .A big part of the weekend was the travelling of course, the train journey , meeting like minded people on the way etc , and I feel the same about the 100 Club .We could probably be there in an hour or so , but stop for a meal on the way , a drink in the Blue posts , and the breakfast in McDonalds afterwards chatting to new and old friends .All part of a memorable weekend Soulin ' stretched out as long as possible .....I'd really miss it if it ended .The toilets and dancefloor need attention of course , but the sense of history in the old venue seems to seep out of the walls , and I always feel a sense of occasion when I visit the 100 Club , it's almost like a musical museum .Best ,Eddie

Soulboy - The Movie. You've Seen It So . .
I went with my 19 year old son [ who isn't into Soul ] loves Dubstep etc ...he thought it was great .I thought it was quite good really , bit of a cheesy script ...but quite funny in parts , and the soundtrack was pretty ok too .I'd only just returned from 100 Club , but on hearing " Exus Trek " it made me want to go to another nighter straight away .......Ok it wasn't a world beater , but a good way to spend a sunday evening .Cheers ,Eddie

Did They Dj At The Casino ?
I saw Colin DJ at The Casino around the time World Column and Lou Edwards were popular , I think he replaced Richard who was on holiday at the time .I know Ian Fishwick DJ'd at the early nighters at the Casino , which could have caused some confusion over whether Levine played there .Cheers ,Eddie

Who Discovered What ?
Richard Searling discovered Chapter 5 in a shop Manchester where he had gone to buy the left overs from a huge haul of records on UK Demo labels ,bought up by Dave Withers , Dave McCadden and Rod Shard [ modernsoulsucks ] . Just as he started playing it at Wigan , a good mate of ours Jimmy Sheard took a copy to Wigan to sell as an unknown and was amazed to hear it on Searling's playlist . Best wishes ,Eddie
