  1. Thats a great photo , the casino used to look so different when it was empty ,The only way I got in free ,was stood chatting with Alan Rhodes at the bar [ think Tabs was with me as well ] after the early session , people started coming in for the nighter and no one asked us to pay.I think some people used to get in free by sweeping up etc . after the early session .Best ,Eddie
  2. Hi Ian , tell everyone about the find you had in LA under the tarpaulin , you found loads of Sements of time on Sussex etc .First read this story in Pat Brady's " Talk of the north " fanzine years ago , sure it could do with a re -telling now .Cheers ,Eddie
  3. All the Northern venues would embrace technology and use laptops ,CD players etc , no one would care what format a record was on as long as they were having a great time .Best ,Eddie
  4. You're right Ian , it is a goodie , if there was only 2 copies and one was cracked , it'd probably be massive !! Best ,Eddie
  5. Hello Ian ,I first heard the Delfonics via a Kent CD of unissued and obscure sides ." Agent for love " has an interesting story , being the vocal of course to Guys from Uncle " The Spy " .In the 70's fanzine editor Dave McCadden [RIP ] ,wrote a made up story asking if anyone had a copy of the vocal to The Spy , titled " Agent for love " .It of course didn't exist , though years later people were claiming to have heard it at Cleethorpes !! The folks at Joe Boy decided to make this in the 90's , recorded in B'ham I think .You probably know this story anyway ,the strange world of Northern Soul eh ? Best ,Eddie

Myself and a few Banbury guys used to go to The Lafayette in W/ hampton on a wednesday in the late 70's , run by Neil Rushton , we hadn't even recovered from Wigan by Wednesday , and this great night just about finished us off !! Remember buying a black Gamble copy of Frank Beverly off Clive Jones for £25 which was a lot of money then .Happy days .........Best ,Eddie
  22. I've got a demo as well Mark , never seen an issue , never seen an issue of Doris Troy " Face up to the truth " either .Best ,Eddie
  23. That's very kind of you Garv , got to say John Ridley is the man when it comes to Deep Soul , I'd have to include Tim Brown as well for all types of Soul , always enjoyed his guest spots on Richards show ,a fountain of knowledge .Rob Moss is very knowledgeable when it comes to Detroit , John Anderson must be up there , along with Garry Cape , if only by the sheer number of records they've found .Best ,Eddie
  24. Paul Kyser produced The Superlatives " I still love you " as well as sides like Jimmy Briscoe " Invitation to the world " .I've got the Tim Ashibende mag as well , I'll dig it out .Best ,Eddie
