  1. Clinton Park came out on Fos-Glo two years after it was released on Delite. Like the description on the video on Youtube and some sales i've seen it's often listed as 'Rare 1st Press' but this is not the case, after two years plus i'd class it as a legal reissue. Of course there's nothing wrong with wanting it on a certain label but if you want the original release it's the Delite issue.
  2. Syl Johnson - I Resign / Send Me Some Lovin' - Twinight 107 - £90 SOLD Visually VG+ with a few surface marks that don't affect play at all, clean labels both sides. I've just upgraded to a Ex+ copy and this plays just the same. I've heard this was possibly a withdrawn 45 ? £2.50 UK Recorded Delivery or £7 Special Delivery - Bank Transfer, Cheque/Cash Preferred Or Paypal As Gift. Youtube Videos For Reference Only
  3. Hello Steve, Somebody has the funky version up on Youtube with scans of the N.Y.C label and says it's the faster one but it doesn't have the time printed on the label. I've just noticed his scan is the same as the one shown on Discogs but has the time photoshopped off. Looks like some fool trying to pass off something that doesn't exist. I used to have copies of 'Sweet Hot Lips' on 12" but they had the same song on both sides.
  4. This is also on the other side of 'Sweet Hot Lips' isn't it. Should be a lot cheaper than 500 on the N.Y.C label. The singer is Lee McDonald.
  5. Nice version, cover of 'Follow Your Heart' by The Manhattans on Carnival.
  6. I like that, sounds just like something Eddie Hinton would do. Definitely soulful.
  7. Thanks for your reply John, a Tri-Centre South African release would be a nice way of owning it, Monument would be the logical label for it to get released there. I know he cut four songs for John Richbourg and was the writer on three of them. He also wrote "Let's Huddle Up And Cuddle Up" for Ann Sexton which was around 1973/4, which was also produced by Richbourg. I was wondering if he recorded his songs around this time but they didn't get released untill a couple of years later.
  8. The last record listed on a Seventy Seven Records discography is: Seventy Seven Records SV-908 — Bill Brantley — Grandaddy (Loves To Share) / It’s You Baby (1974) Did this actually come out on Seventy Seven Records ? I know it did get released a couple of years later on: Sound Stage 7 1519 — Bill Brantley — Grandaddy (Loves To Share) / It’s You Baby (You’re What Makes My World Go Round (1976)

  19. Steve karmen talking about the Breakaway session - " In the case of Pontiac I had stretched the middle section hoping to keep it completely instrumental with no vocals at all. During the wrap up all the singers would enter and Jimmy would provide the 'ad-lib' fills to inspire America to recall the commercial and then rush out and buy Pontiacs. At the session my client asked Jimmy if he could ad lib something over the middle section about what it would feel like to be free, or to be set free or to break away. What you hear is his first and only ad lib reading. After he had finished, completely bowling over everyone in the booth my client was seized with the desire to script and improve on Jimmys ad lib. But of course the performance we used was the first one, because it was the best and the most honest"
  20. I had four mint white demos, they sold for around £100 each. It's still a popular record and sells well. Black issues are a lot harder to find and would sell for maybe double that.
  21. Be careful buying one without listening to a soundfile, lots of them are mislabeled and actually play a song called 'Trademark'.
  22. Hard to beat his 60s and 70s output, a lot of my favourites have already been posted so i'll try this one from the 90s, i had a long wait to find this on vinyl. Superb singer. Al Green - Give It Everything
  23. Alan T replied to manus's topic in Record Wants
The Chelsea album mix is slightly different to the JB's 45. Not much difference but the added horns on the 45 makes it my favourite version .
  24. Ed Townsend album also includes this great track, slow spoken start but builds up to be another Curtom winner. Ed Townsend - How Could You Do It
  25. It's David Oliver, he wrote the song too. I have it on one of his albums.
