  1. Wishing you well Mark.
  2. Anyone got a picture of Little Richie ? I've looked loads of times but never seen one. Even better would be seeing him on "The Porter Wagoner Show" in Jan 1968. Youtube has a lot of episodes and clips but not that one.
  3. I love this too, i've played it at Yarmouth weekender. There's also an x rated intro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcL6cr5DO_M My favourite by them is their last recording on Carnival, a hard one to find. Manhattans - Til You Come Back To Me - Carnival
  4. She wrote some great songs, the best tracks she recorded she was also the songwriter. This one is a personal favourite with Curtis on the production. Barbara Mason - You Can Be With The One You Don't Love - Buddah
  5. Unusual Duets - James Brown and Pavarotti.
  6. https://www.discogs.com/user/Vivtundrgrnd No such seller when i look, probably been kicked off already.
  7. Some nice tracks there but looking for b-sides of big charted records.
  8. Well i've just learnt today that i shouldn't overlook a million seller b-side. Arthur Conleys "Sweet Soul Music" has "Let's Go Steady" on the flip and it came up random on my Itunes. I thought this is great, i need to look for one. It sounded familiar to something else then I realised it's just about the same as Willie Hutch's "Let's Try It Over Again" on RCA. I know Brenton Woods hit "Gimme Little Sign" has a good b-side also. Anymore suprisingly good B-sides of hits ?
  9. I remember seeing them at an allnighter at Notts Palais around late 80's. They had replacement members i think, they were very average and we couldn't wait to get back to the DJ.
  10. Nice collection, is there a 136 ? Discogs lists one but the wrong picture (130) was uploaded then removed. I can't find one online anywhere.
  11. JB was doing his Rhythm & Blues / Soul songs for years and you could hear the changes coming to songs that became a new and different genre. I think the real syncopated Funk that shaped things to come came from "Out Of Sight" .
  12. James Brown - Out Of Sight - Smash (1964)
  13. The Willie Hobbs is higher than i thought. I had issue and demo, sold the issue on here and kept the demo. An extra two minutes of your wife getting killed in a car crash on your wedding day is a bit too much. South African 45 has the long version too. Willie Hobbs is a great artist, i think i've had all his records. On a side note his song "Where Did I Go Wrong" on the same label is on 3 different CD's and they all follow each other by wrongly playing the Jackie Beavers version.
  14. Thanks Chalky, i have this tape somewhere. Touched up your image so i can print it out.
  15. Thanks go to Dylan for getting it, not me. I just put the video up.
  16. Barbara And Brenda - Don't Wait Up For Me Mama - Dynamo I thought my record had a defect at 52 seconds in where there's a thud sound. It seems it's on all copies whether styrene issues, demos or vinyl press. Even the Goldmine CD "Treasure Chest Of Northern Soul" has it. Is it at the recording session, a bump to the mic or something dropped ? 55 seconds in on this video.
  17. Sounds similar to Lou Rawls Philadelphia tracks of late 70s. Quite a few albums to check but maybe a starting point. He did a lot of things with spoken parts, like this .........
  18. Mal, there's some issues of "Don't Be Afraid" that play "I Want To Be Where You Are" on the b-side but they are mislabeled. I used to own one.
  19. I've upgraded twice on Billy Stewart, they both have label issues. One on the left is VG and the one on right is VG+ but slightly off centre with spider attached to fix. They play about the same, like a clean VG+ with no issues. Send me a PM if interested.

  21. Maureen Evans - Searching For Home - CBS UK Not Northern but a very nice beat ballad, her last recording that didn't come out on any other format.
  22. Bobby McClure - You Bring Out The Love In Me - Island Would love to know how this great Chicago artist ended up as a UK b-side to a white group, no credits printed on the label to go off. Same backing as Love Affair on U.A.

  24. The song is a cover of a Four Tops track that's on their first album.
