  1. I trust that you’ll get a full refund from the seller without any problems. Good luck my friend 👍
  2. According to Discogs, there is a 2014 boot of this 45. These are photos of my copy. The width of the run-in area is considerably wider. So the copy on eBay is likely to be a boot. Note that the original is quite thick and flexes very little. Strange thing is, the seller kicked the auction off at £180, so it appears he thought it to be the genuine article.
  3. Your latest one is the whole thing, so if @Mike feels mine should be taken down, that suits me 👍
  4. You're correct, but I can understand why the question has been asked about this one. The label is exceptionally clean and the other stuff the guy was selling was either 'reissue' Northern or cheap Pop records. If it is the genuine article, it was a bit of a bargain...
  5. There's no point in repeating what is already uploaded, so this takes up where the one that Chalky has ends and also features a quick chat between Janice and John Peel on the subject of NS at the end. Some of the music has been chopped in order to get the file size down. Guy Hennigan Interview.wav
  6. Agreed, his recollections do sometimes seem a bit off the mark 😊 I was in the process of throwing the cassettes out, but thought I’d park the recordings here before doing so.
  7. BBC Radio 1, 1988. Andy Peebles interviews Pete and plays his top ten favourite records: Part 2 Plenty of Soul/Motown related chat, as you might expect. (Music played has been edited down) Pete Waterman 15-09-88 Pt 2.wav
  8. BBC Radio 1, 1988. Andy Peebles interviews Pete and plays his top ten favourite records: Part 1 Plenty of Soul/Motown related chat, as you might expect. (Music played has been edited down) Pete Waterman 15-09-88 Pt 1.wav
  9. Edwin Starr on 'The Record Collectors', BBC Radio Shropshire in 1987. Interviewed by Chris Savory and Mike Adams, including a phone-in from 86 Club promoter, John Venn (AKA Esher) ( Music played has been edited down or removed) Edwin Starr Interview 1987.wav
  10. In the storms last year, a large Scots pine tree came down at the back of our garden. It's fall was broken by a sycamore, and the subsequent damage left an inviting perch. This heron is now a regular visitor. My son captured him taking flight.
  11. Wanted, in VG++ / Ex condition or better: Gerri Diamond - Only You (can feel the loss) on Counterpart. If you have one to sell, please PM with a price, condition and how it plays, please. A good photo of the 45 would be nice too. Thank you, Andy.
  12. My first was probably Do I Love You 'Eddie Foster'. Quite a few other boots followed, of varying quality; dodgy sound, off-centre, etc. The vast majority have long since gone.
  13. In the 1980s I remember John Venn aka ‘Esher’, could really talk on the mic, you’d often get a potted history of a 45 before he played it! Then there was Dancing Derek Allen, who was great on the mic, danced and played imaginary instruments. The guitar break in Pat & The Blenders springs to mind. Then you have Keith Money who says little, but plays great records and is fascinating to watch as he goes through his set, fully in the zone. Each one of those guys are very different, each had/have great style.
  14. The Chashers final price looks quite low compared to the one that was on eBay this week.
  15. I used to have a full Kent LP collection, but I’ve thinned it down over the years and just kept my absolute favourites. Some of those I sold off were bought by Ian’s brother.
  16. Oh no. What a lovely man he was. A true gentleman, so modest and kind. 😔
  17. Yes, the third picture holds some memories for me. Summit records had a shop on the left, near the carousel. There was a good fish and chip shop there that I frequented, too. I'd eat lunch sat on a bench next to the carousel going through the reggae and soul records I'd bought and wondered how I was going to justify them all to mum when I got back home to Kidderminster. The rastafarians carrying 'ghetto-blasters' on their shoulders seemed to come from all directions too, you heard them well before you saw them! They always looked so cool to me! St Martin's Church was a regular venue for record fairs in those days aswell.
  18. I used to go in there most Saturdays between 1981 and 1985, buying records, clothes and playing the Dragons Lair video game. Don Christie's reggae shop was a favourite haunt during that period too. Happy times Mal! Andy
  19. The payment plan buttons look enticing, but the privacy policy, terms and conditions are an unreadable minefield! I think I'll leave it.
  20. Cheers Mick. That’s the one 👍
  21. Sorry, the female vocal one that starts afterwards. Maybe got my time wrong!
  22. This footage is brilliant, it reminds me of my happiest days out and about. However, I don’t ever recall hearing the record at 2:32:48 before. It sounds pretty good to my ears. Can someone name it for me, please?
  23. There's a video on YouTube with a correctly-spelled label. However, I suspect it was corrected digitally for the purpose of the video.
  24. It's worth remembering that (like most of us on here) John is no spring chicken. I don't know him, but having just watched that video, the stress of the situation appears to be etched on his face.
