I think you are missing the point, honestly, because the point, the one and only point, was not about record prices but about people getting stuck with huge collections because they have no one to hand them down to because in a decade, two decades, anyone who wanted them will have shuffled off...

I need vol.1 issues 1 to 4, that would be probably December 73, Jan 74, Feb 74, March 74...and I also need October 74. Has anyone got any of these for sale or could they point me to somewhere that specialises in magazines? I've got all the rest and thought it would be nice to get them bound. I saw I think Jan 74 on ebay but it's £15 and I wouldn't pay that sort of price.

Isn't it amazing that we can remember precisely where any specific record came from 10-20-30 years ago, who sold it, when we got it, who was around at the time we got it, but can only remember two of the three items we were asked to get from Sainsbury's yesterday.. Or is that just me...
