Hi Sorry about double quotes and no message. I shouldn't bother but..... I do not have the will, or the imagination to make up the horrific sight that I observed. Lets not forget the havoc that drug use has caused in the scene, we have all lost friends who never made it. Lets just be thankful that we are still here.
  8. And one other thing, just before I go to my bed, I think that most SOULFUL HOUSE is a pile of crap.
  9. Hear Hear Ian I've djed for 30 years playing what I like, I bought Bob Sinclair about a year ago when I first knew about it after seeing it as someones want and it works a treat, playing to a crowd who judge a record by how it makes them feel, last Saturday the place went wild.
  10. Hi Looking For a good copy to dj with, no major hiss, clicks blah blah...
  11. Just heard this courtesy of ,probably the best source for an rnb rookie like myself, The Jester Wild Show. Anyone with an original copy or a reissue, I dj to people who will just appreciate the tune, please PM me. What a f..king record. Nick.
  12. Well , to buck the trend, any time I've bought from here I have been thoroughly satisfied with my purchase.
  13. I just heard this recently and must say that it is one of the most amazing soul records I have heard in a long time....that baseline.
  14. Early nineties I used to do a jazz night called 'Horizontal' in Glasgow, the jazz dance scene was big and I , over 4 hours, could play whatever I wanted. On a Wed night the average attendance was 300 +, a dj dream. One night 'Mr Big' arrived with entourage at 11.10pm, ten mins after the club had opened and I was playing Yusef Lateef ' Love theme from Spartacus', one of the most beautiful pieces of modal jazz ever commited to vinyl. I could see them, about 8 in the group, putting therir heads together and thinking what the ...... Mr Big strolled up to the dj box, put his arm around me and asked if I could play something that they could dance to, I explained that we had just opened, music policy, warm up, create mood etc. Suddenly a £5 note appeared in the hand round my shoulder and with a whisper in my ear he said ' I'll bet a deep sea diver will make you take that shit off'. Politely refusing his offer I put on Duke Pearson 'The Phantom' another masterpiece I used to play at the very start to create a mood as people arrived. He thought that his advice had worked as incredulously they all started dancing to it, lasted a few minutes, necked their drinks and bolted. I wish I'd taken the fiver. ps anyone unfarmiliar with the two tracks mentioned above, do yourself a favour and check them on Youtube.
  15. I've djed with decks suspended from the ceiling to stop the records jumping but drunks would invariably lean on the suspended decks and deck it themseves when they moved. Looks like a swell party..
  16. Rodge Martin 'They Say'. https://youtu.be/1TlpH-QoIdg
  17. It was taken from a Detroit TV show called 'The Scene '. Not northern style dancing but reckoned to be the first Detroit techno record enjoy this classic esp. the guy at 2mins 40sec...coool.
  18. Its Lonnett 'Blue Jeans' , Reading that she was only 15 kind of makes that voice sound all the more amazing, such power from a wee lassie. Needless to say costs a fortune . Thanks for the speedy reply and knowledge, I had the mix playing in the car this morning ,hitting the volume for this tune when my 2 year old, on the way to nursery screamed ' Too Noisy Daddy !'
  19. I would also appreciate some help with an ID for the track at approx. 37.17, amazing production and slightly left field female vocal. In anticipation Nick.

I was there once, standing washing my hands and the guy next to me pulled out a syringe, stuck it in his neck and injected whatever was in it. The next time I saw him he was doing cartwheels in the dance competition.
  22. Being the purchaser of this very fine version, its great to see the reaction when I tell the enquirer that its The Barron Knights ! A superb version of the song.
  23. Maybe Mister Claus could help you out, drop a few hints if there is someone to pick up on your 'suggestion' ?
