Marvin - Lucky Lucky Me
No mate, certainly on the demo 12" they're all remixes or retouched, which is why you need the CD single!

Patti Jo On Ebay
Yes, you're right of course Dean

New Love Fantastic Johnny C British Action
...with the instr. on the flip, which got plays, IIRC John Vincent had it covered up, I picked up on it and played it at Yate, wish I still had it - ah well, got the Phil La issue and UK LP of Johnny C...

That intro's almost four minutes long - had to break for the news and then come back with the vocal!

Patti Jo On Ebay
If that's the Ashley Beedle remix, the intro's looped to destruction ....got it on a Jap CD compilation with an instr. as well.

Vernon Garrett - Shine It On
Played this out for the first time in ages at Soulfusion (warm-up) last time...I can remember a mate having a UK demo of this back in the late '60's! Ahead of his time...
-
Frank Wilson - Do I Love You
Off topic I know, but on t'radio over the weekend I heard an old pop stomper - Paintbox "Get ready for love", and thought of Paul as it's his old copy which sits in my collection! Back on topic, Nick, you're right, just remember the sheer exhilaration of hearing it when it was first being spun!

Voices Of East Harlem Boot?
Yes, with a fake Bell Sound stamp - the giveaway is that the "Just sunshine" is in black instead of red.

Can Anyone Help With This
Where's Intown Mikey? He's the expert on the Yate double clap! My pet hate - people who insist on clapping OFF the beat

Best Live Act At A Northern Venue
Retraction time - I meant Gene Chandler...should really concentrate more but I'm supposed to be working...
-
Best Live Act At A Northern Venue
Surely you're too young to have gone there Dave? ...if that was the BIG venue, it's one I've always been glad I missed...

Best Live Act At A Northern Venue
Yes, he (Chuck Jackson) didn't seem to hit it off personally with Snake at Fleetwood either. BTW More good acts - Detroit Emeralds and Sam and Dave, Torch all-dayer, 1973...Sam and Dave were my heroes. brilliant, even if I didn't know at the time that they weren't on speaking terms!

Best Live Act At A Northern Venue
Agree on Edwin, Jimmy Conwell at the 2001 weekender did it for me as well...sadly an asthma attack the next year meant I kept my record of never having seen JJ Barnes...

The Torch Dec 9th 1972
Frightened the life out of me!

This England - Wigan
Yes, I was, O'brien was, and I know Snooky was...so it's pretty certain that you're thinking of the same night. Of course I was so quiet and inconspicuous on the coach you probably forgot I was there...
-
Insturmentals
Yes, Dalton Boys "Something's bothering you" on VIP - the other side "I've been cheated" got spins as well but "SBY" always rates as one of my faves
-
This England - Wigan
From memory, it was two nights - the Saturday and then the next Oldies Friday niter...
-
Insturmentals
Russ, Flynny has it listed for 200UKP at the moment!
-
Gene Chandler - I Can Take Care - Constellation
Yes Benji, booted on white demo, paper feels rough and the matrix has "Best 1025" and "1026" on the respective sides - and the labels are on the wrong sides. Jerry.
