Whats the true value of this record as Ive seen a couple go through Jms - & my eyes bulged! Ive got one with clean labels but has a chip out of the run-in thats doesnt affect play
  2. I must admit I like the odd oldies night to reminisce that Im in a sweat filled venue or even thinking Im back at the Mecca where I probably had one of the most happier times of my life . I prefer an across the board venue for today and like I said in my previous post lets look at all the tracks played before making an absolute judgement based on a you tube/facebook clip no matter how cringy it looks and I can understand how the extremely passionate see it as really horrendous. AS a self confessed member of the Soul police I can be very critical at times but most times I back it up with facts (I have made mistakes as well). So lets see the playlists to see whether the Media presented is representative of the the whole event. Im not a KR fan at all infact I had a bloody good row with his former company about their attitude. However he does provide a product that does suit some people - Each to their own! My only gripe would be if he provided something that actually wasnt what was advertised- Then" IM in for the Kill" My attitude is people can do what they like as long as they dont harm me - my family or my friends in whatever they do. However if they do I dont let it go which is a failing of mine!
  3. I like this quote! But there is little bonding these days at all cos its been Phooked up by the wannabe Djs/promoters who were jealous of others trying to keep it going at the time and therefore their were too many nights. If I had gone to this event it probably would have been just to see old friends and reminisce otherwise I had been sitting watching Football with a nice Steak & kidney pie and chips from the Bloomfield Chipshop. If all the playlists had been put up for the weekend maybe a better judgement could have been made about some of the accusations. What Im pissed off about is the Clip is on Facebook and some of the people taking the piss in their posts are the exact ones who used to complain a few years ago of "Not enough Oldies" at local soul nights. Think the term is "hypocritical"
  4. Was gonna offer an original acetate of the Fantastic Puzzles Come back Pt 2 Anyhow you have one now so thats the main thing.

Yes Classic Oldie and the Grant smith aint bad either! People will say anything to assist deluded prices!
  6. Maybe it is a bit bitter! but it also makes the whole pricing system ridiculous- makes a mockery of any guides - Just ignore everything - past prices / rarity aspect just make as much money as you can. Pete your allowed one after all the losses you've took. Im just peeved that when someone wants a record from me I sell at what might be reasonable based on the above points . One guy on here bought the Ethics w/d off me here adamant that it wasnt worth more than 20-25 quid and in truth thats really about it - Then the Phooker has another copy up for sale so I offer him a bit more than what Id sold him mine for some months earlier(AS I fancied it back) - hes says it was a different copy he was selling and its a hundred quid. Lets forget this whole scene in terms of Rarity & value cos it doesnt matter one Jot - Its free for all time. Next someone might play say the B-side of the Snake and it becomes popular- so much so that copies then start going for 100 quid - Its bollox! Just thought! Ive actually got the possibility of half a dozen copies of LA Its not the same coming from the US. So if someone on here asks me for one do I say yes here you are Nev - 30 quid mate or Ill swap you for something hopefully knowing he will return the favour or do I just say sorry mate Im putting them on Ebay cos the price is inflated? I know which one I would do! but maybe Im just a decent chap!
  7. as said sold mine on Here not that long ago White demo in EX condition to Wiganer for 30 quid. Anyone who is selling it for more than 50 quid is an opportunist and they then shouldnt lecture anyone about rarity or value when they think a record is not worth an amount others are asking! Thats My opinion!
  8. Probably! Unless their is some form of Provenance - ie - Record of how many pressed the the numbers on any record can be as least or as many as you want!

  19. Very rare - Not sure of Value these days I may be way off here - 1500 - 2000
  20. Nice to see Pamala stanley being played - Last time I played it out it Killed the floor!
  21. Was also released on Canadian Epic- which I sold to Richard at Wigan for 7 quid - Really wished Id kept that one
  22. According to Ian L only 200 were pressed! That makes it pretty rare in the scheme of things! Wouldnt mind the original Pye acetate!
  23. The Thomas release also had the Label name as TOMAS and is apparantly quite rare!
  24. I wish that other site called the Northern soul forum was still on the go. I did a definitions(with supporting examples) list on there that some seemed to agree with. However the site owners changed the format and layout and the previous threads were lost - silly me didnt do it as a word file but typed it directly onto the post. Might have ago at it again sometime soon but being lazy would liked to have got my original one from that site. I even went into differences in acetates eg: original EMI acetates as opposed to the 70s EMI carvers that were done as the only way. If I get my early retirement I will do it!
  25. Maybe 5 quid extra
