  2. Ton of Dynamite did it for me- It was like a herd of Elephants charging at you- You were stamping your feet before you found that elusive space on the Dance floor- then slipped in quick before you joined the repetitive crunch cruch! at the chorus of the other dancers.
  3. So would anyone agree that - with todays technology you can nearly or almost identically reprocate a record from the 60s/70s? in all its facets label vynil stamps etc?
  4. God you have a good memory - I dont - what did we trade? Regards Steve
  5. I Havnt seen manship auction one - It was a different Steelers record. IWJBTLY is about £150 I sold mine when their was a bit of buzz on it (opportunist that I am) for slightly more £175 I think.
  6. The reason is quite simple Kev - MUS Int label presses only so many - It gets picked up by a national or subsiduary. It becomes popular so someone boots or represses the local label as its more bother if you do the Big label or its Subsiduary. Take it from an old bootlegger - Admit that one if you have BOB! I think I have hit a nerve here in Bobas replies to me!
  7. Maybe because the las vegas person unfortunately let it slip in a conversation. But its like anything Bob unless you were there at the time anything is pure speculation in this business. And as Peter Brown told me in person in New York you can have anything pressed up for small dollars these days - (Amazing how the Saborion LPs look so new)

  17. A POPULAR GATHERING HOLE FROM THE MID-60'S, What was her name?
  18. It went for £83 on Manships auction recently!
  19. The problem with Paypal is the time that it covers. I boughta cheap record $28 from the US on 2nd december. I instantly paypalled it The record did not arrive within the 30 day limit - I messaged the seller and he assured me it was sent 4/12. -Last night I get in ad the record arrives- Now thats luck because if it hadnt I had no where to go because of the time limit on paypal. Nevs Right Recorded delivery in Uk However who wants to pay an extra $9-10 dollars extra for signed for when the record only cost $28. Anything around a hundred and over - thats another thing!
  20. Very sad at the age of 59 "Turn off the lights" was such a sexy record - every girl I knew at the time wanted it

  22. Ah but in some cases they can. When provenance is present. E.G. Letter to record station saying here is of the 20 copies I have had done. Or The person who pressed it-say in the case of Hung up in mid air which was reportedy only 200, or the recent Kings go Forth. Sites like John Manships auction where research is done or as said provenance accompanys the record/acetate. So the key to this is provenance! If you dont have it the number could be 5 or 50,000. add this to copies destroyed-It becomes a guessing game. Which is as Nev says why we love it so much.
  23. Sorry Mark - I totally disagree with you- Betty was not very good at Blackpool a few years ago. Couldnt hold her notes and her bottom range was poor- especially singing "Almost" She was also a bit pretentious and didnt want to talk after 10 mins saying she was saving her voice! I think that tells you thatshe had lost some range. However Phillip Mitchell was excellent Garland Green was pretty good and Bunny Sigler was was also pretty good at Fleetwood The Originals were not bad either at the Ritz
  24. Oh my God -Thats a shock!
  25. Theirs no such thing as legal reissues of labels as this unless the someone can purely specify they own the rights and can produce the evidence as such. People often use the term reissue as a mask for boot!
