  1. For some reasons, some numbers on few major USA companies never received a promotional release. Capitol championed that.
  2. 'no baby' is indeed the "plug side" on the promo USA RCA 45 single. Soft spot I always have for my WDJ RCA 45's... the German picture sleeve was a "regular" find years ago in Belgium due to play of 'since I find my baby' (pitched down) on the pop-corn scene. Personally I never like that picture sleeve poorly printed in black and white on cheap quality paper in comparison with the flashy blue LP cover !!! But it is an original issue and is collectable as valuable and playable out.
  3. Me neither. I doubt very very much that. They could be another mishmash color group, but the vocal works on here are way to souple, dynamic and sure IMHO to be "blue eyed". And I love my blue eyed soul from time to time. To prove I'm not dissing "my race" I have the 3 single of Silky Hargreaves amongst others...
  4. Never seen a thick vinyl Coral record for this Romance Watson. But they used 2 pressing plants so if a single was pressed in both likely one might be thicker but the typo also.
  5. Exactly ! Don't think it was booted also...
  6. Styrene Coral ?
  7. A photo of the Dexy's Midnight Runners as well and everything else that can go. Youtube is like Wikipedia, don't take it for a source, it's "fed" by "John Doe". The Poets on Symbol are black.
  8. I'll do you a top, loud and wide spectrum mp3 recording of the original USA 45. How much you pay for the hassle ? LOL Still I'll have to dig it out then do the whole thingy and then send it to you... Cheers, Tim

    What ?
  10. the LaNIERS minuting @ 1:50 amateurish soul girls full of « guts » makes this a northern soul record by definition. Label has a sticker « hardened » mark and vinyl is scuffy to down grade strict as a VG copy. Look and listen to soundclip and scans of actual record for sale and decide for yourself if it’s decent enough… or not ! Fabulous down tempo on the real 'A' side for those into that. £40 FREE SHIPPING ALL OVER THE WORLD laniers.mp3 Grading through M - EX - VG - G... Free shipping all over the world to have it registered add £8 PM me to inquire ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Cha Cha Hogan 2 :10 instrumental composed by the infernal Detroit duo Jack Ashford and Lorraine Chandler ! Shares the same backing track to Freddy Butler ‘this thing’. Grade strict Ex- copy as you know these pressings are made in the «rough » so the few scuffs and marks on the vinyl is common even as NOS. Same for the wear on the label with « cheap » ink red and blue colors. 2 X on label. 11. No mystery since your 45's are almost all MONO. I had to understand through the years how to combine my phono stage to a cost, good is expensive, and after a lot of investigation and DIY tweaks to give justice in sound for my beloved records. Now I can enjoy and "discover" them all anew with "Oomph & Kick" with no ear bleed. No matter how high-end phono set-up you have, none is universal to any kind of records and musical genre !!! Then you have the subjective listeners taste and ear-buds. Just start and try to understand what is the impact of the stylus cut/shape in the groove and that is only the start... I'm no audiophile geek I swear, I only love a good sound for my good records !
  12. Sound clip anyone ? Please and Thanks upfront if ever...
  13. Irreplaceable Rod the Mod ! We'll have still to give a good chance for his replacement-successor (LOL). Catch you around good man Rod.
  14. My heart is trad and my mind is open. Here precisely my ears here tell me the same as you; not really worth the different re-mixing treatment. Sound on the very first white promo only distributed by Chess has even a better template mastering job than on the pink Red-Lite distributed ones !
  15. On the first notes it sounds (only that not saying it is) to me like a white/garage/prom band on re-hearsall and I guess the other titles are covers as well (with the guitar !!!). Doesn't help but I guess it never got passing that acetate stage...
  16. There's that odd spare sounding thing;
  17. What boot and what Carstairs track ?
  18. Flip is "Carstairs" or what ? Sorry but I'm not sure after re-reading your quest what it's really about...
  19. This is taking the quest to another direction... anyway, true; I love Bobby Womack' 'trust your heart' but only have it on a 7". And I do have some 12" of which I got rid of the 7" (better mix and mastering) or the other way around when I kept the 7" and got rid off the 12"... 'trust your heart' on 12" seems to be promo only though ! Just listened to it on YT and it's another take ! I like it less honestly. It's rawer as in less juicy and laid-backer. Prefer the 7" recording. Thanks for the tip Gareth. In music I live to learn and love it.
  20. I have the UK (EDIT.) issue measured at 4:18 with rap intro (not saying that on the label) and would like a USA release with the same Edit. rap intro. How does one tell the difference between the variations of all the USA Arista STOCKER releases. I understand that all the stockers feature only the shorter edit at 3:41 without the rap intro. Am I right here ? It seems that only the Canadian issue would be the same as the UK (Edit.) release. The USA Arista PROMO copy do feature on one side the rap intro edit. Is that the only way to get that on a USA 7" with the rap intro ?
  21. Just did 'Buy Now' a phono part on eVilBay UK last night and was astonished to see it was to be shipped through the outrageous GSP after I purchased it. I did tend to check that option on the seller's page before bidding or committing to buy to avoid it at all costs. This was not showing directly in the seller's shipping specs seller's page. Since it only stated 'International Priority Shipping' on the seller's page I didn't bother to inquire further and committed to buy. Only after that it clearly showed on my "order's" page with the expected 1 to 2 weeks to ship to Belgium !? There I understood it would first be sent to the GSP center in the USA. Maybe did I misread something or skipped an option... So I went back on the item's page to check it out and after clicking on the "shipping details" nail it indeed did show with a very shallow GSP "icon" far on the right of your screen diluted in miles of deterrent text to read... So on top I've even paid the extra shipping costs not for "signed for" but just to go there and back... So to avoid that Glo Shix Prog scam on the eVilBay double caution will be required from now on ! Thought I'd warn this out...
  22. Reasons are/can be 3 mainly... 1. The first wrong things we selector DJ's do (not necessarily willingly or rationally) is the use of slip mats. We are selectors and not scratchers or mixers so the use of a slip mat (especially) on a direct drive with quick start/stop is a non-sense but we are most of the time dropping in with our records and do with the phono set-up there... Solutions are a good soft non-slip mat (or multiple material layers) and or a 45 adaptor doubled-up with clamp/weight. Buy and take your owns with your records when you DJ out. 2. Tonearm settings are all wrong on VTA, counterweight and anti-skating adjustments maybe with a damage stylus after some "bad" wear. Solutions, change for anew stylus and proper tonearm settings. Buy your own conical or elliptical stylus and cartridges and DJ out only with those and get to know how to set up properly a tonearm. 3. Both factors at the same time and worn-out turntables making properly adjustments unattainable. Solution; if you were attending a venue as a DJ spot, grab your bag and get on out and require to DJ your records on a relevant phono set-up. If you're home, avoid those DJ geek stuffs and buy properly adjustable phono stuffs made for proper 45's playtime. Mind you if the turntable's tonearm is wacky and readjustments are barely possible then the cause is hopeless.
  23. Read it wrong, sorry ! All cool. Good luck with your "spacing/sales".
