  1. Just got mine, on center & plays fine. Did you contact them Pete and see if they'd replace the duff one you got? Mine's # 485 so assuming they are doing them in order there can't be (m)any left by now
  2. Interesting selection of countries. Most of Europe but I see they're even defeated by that giant black hole, Italy. Brazil in S America? I wouldn't have thought that was possible. Unlikely the rest will follow?

Of course I always scrupulously do that. What with arguing with our lot and your lot and all the rigmarole entailed would really only benefit my grandkids.
  4. Probably, it's getting hard to find a place that ain't McD's I'm not the one to ask but I think now gas is up to almost $4 a gallon it's killed a lot of that sort of driving unless there is a reaon, I live in NYC though, could take me that long to get through the tunnel to Jersey City, so we don't.
  5. Please come we'd love to see you, but it's 300+ miles from Phil to Pitt that's Wolverhamptom to Lands end and a bit. Lotta differences in between.
  6. Thanks, not perfect, but then 1000 pages wouldn't be either.
  7. It's a trite phrase sometimes bandied about with no thought behind it but there are some people whos contribution cannot possibly be measured - I've been trying really hard to think of a duff record he made, couldn't do it. Even at his worst ................... For me the telling record was St James Infirmary, out of the numberless versions out there his was the best- simple , passionate, words almost fail me. Studio, live didn't matter. Saw him for free at Lincoln Center quite a few years ago, open air, with James Cotton wailing, Magic. Gone but not forgotten. RIP

Why not put what you want as a starting bid? You might as well if you're not going to sell for less. Stops all this buggering about. Also how many non payers can you file with the same non paying buyer before even EB will smell something?

So who is this prince & princess of timewasters, It just gets better all the time.
  10. If it's a "Keep Old Soulies Solvent" event, sure you need the vinyl, but I'm sure they'd be less than thrilled if they knew what he does. If it's "Save The Fallen Fluffies of Fishton" I'm sure they couldn't give a rat's rear how it comes out the speakers. Deffo pushing it a bit in any case.
  11. $9 - I wish I could mail a 45 to UK for that. With EB discount its about $11.50, regular mail $12 & change. Global Programme ! EB haven't pushed me that way and as far as I know you have to actively sign up for it. I wouldn't go near it with a 20 ft pole. No one in their right mind would get EB & the Post office in cahoots while you sit there like a chump trying to find out what's going on and the buyer has to take out a 2nd mortgage.
  12. Sorry, gone. Didn't last long.
  13. Both of those are closed
  14. Didn't know him, but there can't have been much wrong with anyone who called himself after Slim. Sincere condolences to Family & Friends.
  15. What's not to like? just feelgood music only a soul snob ( were such a thing to exist ) wouldn't like.
  16. I don't think there is anything to cover. You did your bit, the PO did theirs, even EB did - he didn't. He won't get it by Saturday unless he gets off his a** and goes to the PO and looks for it, if he won't do that ........... I'd relax and stop worrying, there is a never ending stream of them you can't do anything about and it's bad for your nerves. It's out of your hands for now.
  17. You've already gone above and beyond. You should be good, even EBay will probably accept 3 attempts at delivery and no replies till it's too late. But as always they make if more grief than it's worth in the end. Easy, he's French.
  18. Intoxica, Portobello Road, Ladbroke Grove Now closed. There's Firebird Records, Red Lion arcade, Portobello. Fri/ Sats only AFAIK
  19. Haven't seen anything like that since I was a sprout. Bloke up the road had one, not sure if it was exactly the same. Somewhere there was a disc of me shouting in to it. Probably abysmal "fidelity" but I don't remember. I do remember I was fascinated.

  21. Well done & good luck. Any chance of a branch in NYC, we need one. There's bugger all left here.
  22. RIP Sincere condolences to friends and family.
  23. Don't know the guy, but best to him and the family.
  24. Thanks, I figured it must be them but didn't make the jump as the titles were different. Nobody is bright every day. I don't have access ( you tube ) to all the tracks but Feel Inside is the same track, haven't listened to it note for note but I will later to see if /how it might differ. Cat Walking isn't Cat Walk. More later
  25. Just got this acetate. See pic. 8 tracks , plays at 33 not 45. Tracks, Scratched in matrix. Also 22.13 which is about right for the timing. 1- Love everyday 2 - It's love I feel 3- Goodness 4- Soul Children 5- Time will tell 6- Sherry 7 - Whatever happened 8- Cat walking woman Anyone know anything about it?
