Leon Thomas - Love Each Other
Got the right hand one Barry, dunno but left has the full label addy, and the other nothing, but bar that and the logo those labels are the same, I wouldn't think they were not legit. Pressing plant label variation I reckon... Malcolm

Failing that Bobby Bland - piece of gold on Uk Action, cause I got mine from my mates mum for a fiver while I was at school, and that Lp opened so many doors for me...Strong Stuff!!! Mal

Various Musings On The Salvadors
still a pulsating how ever many times I hear it, its still up there with a small number of 45's like George Blackwell on Smoke, never dims as a track or collectable 45.. it came on the other night in my car, followed by Renegade Soundwave - The Phantom, a comparison that may be lost on most of you, but I thought these two tracks are quite the same within their respected genres, both drop what your doing, no messin, kick ass! straight to the floor! tracks... and before I get any stick, this threads musing right? I rate both of these tracks personally, right at the top! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mtAhannzXM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwsZDC9iMiA Malcolm

How North Is North?
Where was Saints & Sinners held at in Brum Ady? Its funny I remember speaking to Kev Roberts in the early 9ts, I photographed him at his then Radio Show, and he asked where I came from, I said Birmingham, and he said it never really happened in Birmingham did it... I know the Birmingham Lacarno was popular and in the eighties The Outrigger, which is where I started off is well known, but back in the late 6ts, early 7ts Ive never head of anywhere, certainly not Saints and Sinners... How North Is North?
Kev, thats folk from the south not understanding that there is a place called the Midlands in the Uk... in my book the North doesn't start till you pass Nottingham, and well on route to Sheffield or Manchester...

Poll - A Which Version - I Can't Make It Anymore.... ?
absolutely no contest... someone once told me there were a million pressed of Spyder Turner... One of those things you hear at all-dayers propping up the bar, I dont for a moment believe MGM actually pressed 1 Million of this track... or did they?

John Manship Auction Results 30 - 7 - 2014
I think we should be boyed by the fact that there are still folk that buy and sell at realistic prices, if we keep making our voices heard on this matter John Mamships auction will remain a playground for people with more cash than sense, they are welcome to it, I've got along quite nicely for over 25 years of collecting pretty much without paying his extortionate prices, and let's not forget certain folk on this site that sell daily on here, don't contribute to the debate what so ever, and still list the same records well over a year since they first went up... Jay Wiggins - Tears Of A Lover
funny one, its been listed everywhere at £100 for years, but you can pick it up cheaper recently, regrettably I think £40-£60 is about right for the amount of copies in circulation... personally I'd never sell it, his tracks on IPG, one of which is dog rare on JW, are all brilliant... 'I Work So Hard' is that the flip of Tears of a Lover, or a separate 45 on Solid? anybody got a JW copy of Forgive Then Forget / My Lonley Girl? Ted Massey tape sound for me from the Old Vic... Mal

Album Track Carvers
never mentioned 45s Steve, my comments aimed at Lps, I don't know mate, I'm not a dj, but I do know lugging a 100 weight of box about is a pain in the arse, that said if older Djs are still doing it, then it's OK then.... I prefer OVO myself, it's just the silly arguments about it that makes me resist, if this bloke wants to cut carvers, then good for him, he must have a good reason, either that or his doctors told him to keep off the left leg after the last hip replacement... Stopping Buying / Selling Up
I flogged loads last year, made some good money as well, be honest I've still got thousands of records, so I've hardly missed most of them, those I did regret selling I've bought back... But I must say I've wrestled with flogging all of it bar a 300 or so box, I listen to my I-tunes in the day, so playing records is a night time treat after a hard day, what's put me off is after I've been cherry picked of the so called ' money records' it's bloody hard to shift the small things everybody has, but I don't want to go through life not having Edwin Starr - backstreet and so on.... So I'll keep em... But sell to buy, that way I can actually start saving for my retirement....cause I cant foresee how much they will be worth once the early generations of collectors sell up and move on, that has already started I'd say... Tricky, and bloody addictive!! Malcolm

Sammy Ambrose - Dreamsville/monkey See (Rarest Format) Uk Stateside
Its a funny one rare British Issues, they are on the whole, pretty dull really, but due to us not regularly seeing that track on that label, it excites us... (Think Golum)... Shame it never came out in Oz, I'd go crazy for that, as it is my preference is a Yank Demo.. but agree you UK boys should get hot under the collar on the above, a right visual UK Paradise that... Album Track Carvers
think this is where the 'Original only' argument falls down... basically because its very HEAVY to carry around!!! dont get me wrong, I'm 100% all the way at home, but if I had to lug stuff as some of these Dj's do about like a 50 box of LP's, I'd certainly look to make that easier... Mal

Buddy Smith - When You Lose The One You Love (Brute)
dont ask why, but having been upto 3 last night working, and flat out this morning, I took the time to restore this lovely 45 to better times... basically I do it every day to keep up my basic Photoshop skills, its something I do in down time.I .strangely enjoy restoring scans of Rare soul records... so here's Buddy in better days... dont he look the business!! mal

Price Guides - W.t.f
My Manship guide used to live on the deck, doesn't not anymore, I find it useless pretty much, Ive read these things for years, like we all have, can think of better things to do than waste marker pen ink... In fact it spoils the handmade crocheted doily Liza dropped on there.... now they are a waste of time!! mal
