  1. Yup, just checked my copy....if John found 100 copies there, that's probably a large part of the press that got 'dumped'. Am really glad that this record is so highly thought of, it'll have it's day one day.
  2. The label is from Nashville or Knoxville will have to check att home.
  3. Very cheap for these days. They were white I think? (not 100% sure) but a cracking record nonetheless.
  4. A real shame she is being so big headed.
  5. Amalgamated Funk Co had a nice ballad Also Total Unity on a DT related label?/ Can search em out if anyone is interested.....Steve

Agree 100% with Sean - good records / bad records - we are obsessed with pidgeonholing them all the time I think the baggage the UK scene carries around it's shoulders is collosal. Must be nice not to have it all Rosie's Dad.

A lot of the T Jaye copies came to the UK at the time of release. Hi Tyde did as well but was only ever in limited quantity. So it's one of those like David Sea on Crown Intl or Roy Dawson on Coemands, which are far easier to find in the UK, than in the US. I agree it's a lovely tune. Cheap too. Now if it had a northern beat.....
  10. Thankx Godz
  11. Nice one. Well done Andy Davies......
  12. What page of Saturday's Guardian was this on please?
  13. Excellent northern. It's a top 500 tune that I don't get overly tired of. Probably because of that sinister sounding backing track....
  14. Not turned up in quantity as far as I am aware. Saw one at Prestatyn in March.

Hello Mark, I remember Move they were from Edinburgh and put out a lot of indies that had become popular with the modern crowd at the time, this one included. Generally I found the sound quality on Move releases to be not so good though....better off with a US original
  16. Gotta agree fantastic northern.....
  17. Think I've got a spare - need to check. It's on a light brown label as I recall.

7" orig came out on Hy Tide then reissued on Ted Jarrett's T Jaye label. Hy Tide is rarer, T Jaye should be quite easy to pick up. Steve
  19. It's a quality record. Am going to play it on Solar Radio in a couple of weeks. Steve
  20. Interesting, when we said a year or two back that the guy had found a whole pile of them and was drip feeding them out, other people were going "no it's only a handful"...... "get em before they're gone" etc etc.
  21. Ahh a classic Bert Keyes sweet soul 45. It's one that doesn't show up too often, but as to price it depends if you can find two sweet soul collectors that need one.....who knows....

great track, and easily the rarest of Darrow's recordings......
  23. Yes some also work at venues like Boomerang, but as said before it's not really allnighter music, which is Russ's point (I think). 80s Also more popular in Europe. Steve
  24. Still plenty of great 80s not been mentioned. Tons in fact. But don't think the vast majority are right for the current nighter crowd. Rideout "Spend some time" is an example of a record that sounds good out, but not so hot on your own turntable. A barren wasteland for rare soul? - certainly not. But not that many good choons that would please those that seek uptempo all the way.
