  1. She was supposed to have had an album of her own on Scepter, but I've never seen it. When I get a chance I'll pop up a nice photo of her, if I can work out how to do it...
  2. Background - yeah produced by the same guy that did the Rotations and Nurons classics - Eddie Campbell I seem to recall. Singer also recorded as Teah Louise (but not as good). Copies have completely dried up in recent times - they probably only pressed 300-500 as a new release.
  3. Fair comment they were all at it to varying degrees. Russ was a baddie, Keith was as bad and broke things like Muriel Day, Jackie Trent "You babe" and the dreaded "Love Hustle"....Yes Richard did play Judith Durham and if I remember rightly also Peggy March.
  4. She had some unissued stuff as well "This is the price I must pay", an occasional spin of mine to more discerning audiences. I also have a several page article on her somewhere in a black stars magazine - she was a curtis mayfield protogee. Loads of pix of her walking down the road etc....
  5. This worked perfectly well with me Jordi- add in a couple of hundred dollars for the machines, and see you at Dinner
  6. Bloody hell - a good record is that - played by Russ? Some mistake surely I see he dropped it after one week!!! - I would have thought quite 'ard to find these days. Agree Lea Roberts is inferior production.
  7. Ged you cynic - how could you even think such a thing!
  8. I think those ex NY guys that live down there have it pretty sewn in terms of finding rare records. When I was there a couple of years ago I checked out a few stores but nothing much in there - some Motown demos etc for $1 but that was about it.
  9. Bleeker Bob's a rip-off - beware. House of Oldies definitely a miserable old git. Good Luck
  10. A copy is winging it's way to Ace-Kent towers as we speak - or at least it will be once I get to the Post Office at lunchtime.....
  11. --> QUOTE(mark.b @ Oct 2 2005, 10:58 PM) link me and it was 100 les found it in a box full of pressings and he paid about £3.00 for it mark I know I've said it before but 10p Petticoat Lane......alright it was early 80s!
  12. Am I the only one that rates Merging Traffic "Magic of your love" on here - awesome 80's midtempo or is it just me?
  13. In a word "No". I don't think we'll ever see the heady heights being paid for collecting "originals" to the same degree we have in the past. As we become truly multi media, materialistic and a throw away society, so the demand for specific formats will decline - Gawd I cannot believe I wrote that crapola
  14. Shouldn't be rare but probably in demand for sweet / group collectors these days. You sure 18 people are watching or just one person going back eighteen times?
  15. A seriously rare record indeed!
  16. Which one are you talking about Col "Would you believe in me" is fantastic. The Ampex one is a bit "odd" Nice to see you on here Gav!
  17. A few years ago 400-500
  18. Fab Playmates always reminds me of Cornelius Bros and Sister Rose for some reason....
  19. Agreed and this had in the past, had regular plays.........
  20. I am really surprised he hasn't worn the bloody thing out by now. How did he cue them all up if the tracks were on two sides of the same disc I wonder - this and other imponderables to be revealed in "Soul Survivors Volume 2" - or maybe not.
  21. yeah but no but yeah but...because we might have danced to it as kids, does not a good record maketh. We also danced to the Javells etc as young things in youth clubs before realising that we were being duped. The sands of time have been particularly cruel to SITS, and whilst perfectly acceptable to 14 year olds getting into NS and being influenced by not much older DJ's, with the benefit of 30 years experience, it now sounds truly dreadful (as does the Reflections, as does August & Deneen). Also didn't the Beach Girls cover SITS long before Wigans Novation? Ahem! I rest my case. I like "What's wrong with me baby" and view it as something of a minor classic, but SITS is dreadful west coast sub pop drivel aimed at the Californian surfing crowd.
  22. Savannah Intl - fantastic record, and one of two he did on the label. "What am I gonna do" is an old moddun spin from the early - mid 80's (Peterborough etc.).
  23. Just how many Dat Richfield Kat Lps did he do - I have 4 or 5, and ones a double! A busy bee indeed before he was famous.
  24. Hey good luck in all that you do fella!
  25. Gash - a truly repulsive avatar! What happened to your dancing Mod?
