Frankie & Classicals
I just received this in the post thinking that I had purchased the spoken intro version as it was 2.28min long. It must be miss-labelled as it only plays for two minutes and without the spoken intro. A bit disappointed having paid $40 for it but hey ho that is record collecting.

Constellation record label
Looking on Discogs the early releases were straight logo on yellow followed by blue curved and then blue straight. There are exceptions to that and some have been issued on curved and straight. I have searched on the web but don't seem to be able to find any detailed information.

Constellation record label
Constellation have several record label designs. Anyone know if the curved and straight logo designs were issued at the same time or is one earlier?

- Dobie Gray - Out On The Floor
Scratched matrix numbers look like they have been hand written. Stamped look like they have been machine stamped i.e.all the same height.- Jerry-O Popcorn Boogaloo On Boo-Ga-Loo Records
Does any know the year this was issued? I can't find the issue date on the web.- Just Arrived In The Post (Or Just Bought)
Johnny Maestro and the Crests - Heartburn, £3.10 off Ebay with only two bidders. The vinyl was covered in grime but after a bit of a clean up it was a very nice VG+. It has only just gone into the box. Must have played it at least half a dozen times. Great "Oldie"- Johnny Nash - Love Ain't Nothin' - Uk Pye - Value?
Great record that deserves more plays.- Gil Scott Heron - The Bottle Spoken Intro
I think that this might be the Spanish issue that Dave mentions it looks to be a later issue dating from 1977. Picked it up recently.- Jackanory?
One on M-Pac by Billy "The Kid" Emerson.- Esquires Dancing A Hole In The World Wdj Copy
Yes the issue is listed but not the WDJ.- Esquires Dancing A Hole In The World Wdj Copy
I've had this for a few years and it is not listed in the JM price guide. Is it legit and what does Bunky's Pic mean? I would appreciate any information.- Fabulous Emotions
Some more information copied straight from JM's auction site where he has a Tamboo promo for sale. "This offering is the rarely seen VINYL PROMO press - in fine clean condition. It did of course first appear on the NICO label - but the recent interest and the fact Soul Sam has just dropped a copy into his DJ box, we feel this Promo is worthy of a little speculation as to where it will rank …this time next year. May we add this VINYL PROMO was pressed from the NICO masterplate - The styrene press, seems to have been born slightly later and remastered and pressed at FRANKFORD & WAYNE. " Looks like my Tamboo stock copy has to be dropped from the OVO list.- Ric Tic Originals - Styrene Vs Vinyl
He says that the original is styrene with a paper label. The 1970 repros are vinyl with a moulded in label which is more orange than red. Hope that this helps.- Ric Tic Originals - Styrene Vs Vinyl
The JM price guide has lengthy notes on the Laura Lee issue copy. One of the notes says that originals have a scratched in matrix. Looking at my copies up to RT 118 seem to be mainly scratched matrix numbers. The later blue swirl label seem to be stamped.- Instrumentals - Bovvered?
When I decide to play some vinyl at home I often notice that I have unintentionally picked more instrumentals than vocals. I have no idea why, it just happens.- Fabulous Emotions
Robb Just had a look at my Tamboo copy. It is a yellow issue label, the markings in the deadwax are a scratched "T - 5100 - 2" and then a circled 2, there is also a stamped "MASTERING BY FRANKFORD/WAYNE PHILA" Regards, Dave.- Fabulous Emotions
Anyone know when they were released? Is the Tamboo a reissue?- Joe & George No One Loves You
I have a copy of Joe & George on the Now label. The Hot Cinnamon version is more expensive is this because it is rarer or was it an earlier version, anyone know?- Dobie Gray - Out On The Floor
Original has matrix stamped CR 2049. Reissue has a scratched matrix.- Maj Lance Ain't No Soul Demo - Is This A Bootleg/2Nd Issue?
Original has a stamped matrix.- Is There A Better £5 Original
Willie Mitchell - Secret home. On the other side you get 20-75, on the Hi label, two great sounds for less than a fiver. - Dobie Gray - Out On The Floor
