The photo was from Ty Hunter Jr.... My late uncle Herschel Hunter (far right), Andrew Alonzo and member as the Detroit male vocal group, The Martiniques. Herschel was also an original member of the Hot Wax label mens vocal group, 100 Proof. Herschel was also a later member of The Monitors and The Royal Jokers. Andrew Alonzo says the other guy is Bobby (Mello Yellow) Martin Willingham.

One of the Martiniques joined the Detroit Soul group on facebook and a photo was posted.

It certainly looks like a home made label, not a clean cut. Pink label, black text with matrix is original first release.

Shocked to hear of the passing of John Anderson. A name synonymous with Soul music in this country and Northern Soul in particular. A giant of a man who has done more than most, his record finds far greater than anyone else. Words like legend are more often than not wrongly attributed to people who don’t deserve such praise but John more than deserves the word and many others, legendary he was and he will be sadly missed. My thoughts with his family and friends. R.I.P. John

Great film. We often take motown for granted. We often only talk about the bad things the label did, ripped its artists off, the treatment of its stars etc. We often ignore the fact that it took black music to the masses. So it was refreshing to sit down and watch Hitsviille: The Making Of Motown for about two hours and celebrate the label. Berry Gordy and Smokey took us through the life of the label, you could see the love and friendship they both had for each other as they told us how it happened right from the beginning. It was great to see many of those behind the scenes give us their take and get the credit they deserve. The live footage on stage and in the studio fabulous to see. Of course many didn’t get a mention but you can only do so much and talk about so much in two hours. it won’t please everyone that some didn’t get a mention or the way some artists were treated wasn’t mentioned but I guess celebrating 60 years and the hiys they made isn’t the right time. I would love to see a warts an all series covering everything but somehow I doubt that will happen now, especially with Berry now retired.

No one said Talmadge owned both, I only said he owned Highland (the quote is still there a few from the bottom on the previous page). Most of Talmadge’s own releases went through Malynn enterprises so I would assume if he’d had a stake or owned Magnum then Magnum would be the same.

If it is the Elliott Shavers I know and have spoken to in the past he didn't keep a low profile, he was a well known Jazz musician and was alive a well a few years ago. Not spoken to him for a few years though.

He was but there is also another Sonny Daye who isn’t Frank.
