  1. Andy definately had a few copies, I remember scanning it, and the Darling Dears, and taking sound files. I seem to remember Andyโ€™s came from the states, could be wrong. I thought someone had been at the stock before the rest were shipped to Aus. Again could be wrong, it was 8 or 9 years ago and I have trouble remembering breakfast some days.
  2. There was loads around a few years ago, someone got all the labels stock. I agree with Dave, marmite and the price.
  3. I have all the Detroit City Limits, twice....Shades Of Soul the complete run, have some spares too.
  4. New Soul Junction 45 - Robert Montgomery - A Love Song About You View full article
  5. Thanks mate, best show about IMO. This weeks show featuring the one and only Andy "TATS" Taylor. Two hours of quality chat and music.
  6. Clara Hardy is an uncredited acetate Kirsty.
  7. A more comprehensive Monarch dating guide....remember not only Monarch used the Delta number system, other pressing companies such as Alco used it too. Each plant has their own stamp but all will use the delta triangle followed by one of the numbers in the chart From discogs.... Monarch Stamp Alco Stamp
  8. Few year old now but worth picking up... https://www.sweetrecordslabel.com/product-page/heaven-bells-freedonia
  9. Plenty on discogs, only a cheap lp
  10. They all sold as far as I am aware
  11. That maybe true but if you do a weekend that may well be your budget for the month, maybe two? That will have a detrimental effect on what has been the lifeblood of the scene, all-nighters and to a certain extent your quality soul nights, the ones that make you want to travel not your average night in the back room of the dog and duck or the local flea pit.
  12. Plenty for sale on the internet, ยฃ5/ยฃ10. Little bit more if there is some demand. Job lot, not seen tne lot for sale before.
  13. I've never seen the Cobblestone 45 but believe it to be demo only.
  14. A fabulous show from a week or so ago with special guest Stuart Raith and a great three hours of West Coast Soul music.....feature the Keymen of Los Angeles featuring, Fred Smith,Bob Relf and James Carmichael to name a few.
  15. These are the best IMO... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200-7-WHITE-CARD-RECORD-SLEEVES-MASTERBAGS-FREE-24H/360459172498?hash=item53ed0a7a92:g:z4YAAMXQ1PNRciOP
  16. But one a week, surely over kill? Surely onlyna handful from Europe? Iโ€™ve seen the odd videos, some had very healthy numbers, Liverpool for instance, others not so healthy looking A couple of years ago I went through the calendar, there was two a month then, must be a lot more crowded now.
  17. I also think weekenders are having a major say..... since the beginning of June we have had weekenders at.... Cleethorpes, Skegness, Blackpool, Bridlington, Liverpool, St Ives, Whitby & Manchester. EIGHT in six weeks. The last three all on the same weekend, barmy. There are still more to come this summer plus all the European ones that are now popular with Brits
  18. 27 events within 30 miles of Sheffield this weekend....the scene is doing its very best to fcuk itself up. Selfish promoters and selfish so called Djs who have nothing to offer that isnโ€™t already there. They donโ€™t care about any potential damage they may be doing to the scene, the bigger picture isnโ€™t a worry for them. There is only a finite number of people to go round with less and less travelling or not even bothering much these days.
  19. Not a Philly label or act.
  20. @Driveller made some mighty fine ones Andy, John Manship was at one time selling them for him, not sure if he still is?
  21. Who is looking down on anyone. Merely giving an opinion like anyone else. After all that is what a forum is for.
  22. Was covered in previous topic about the film. Said then it is something to simply publicise the film and true or not it should have been left out as no one around to corroborate the allegations.
  23. But those listening to the kinks, Spencer Davis etc weren't Northern Soul, that came later when it evolved from the early mod into what Dave Godin described as Soul from the North. Yes the mods were the roots of our scene but like everything it evolves...well not so much today but that's another argument ๐Ÿ˜‰ The scene is essentially about black music. Many didn't like the introduction of the pop mid 70s and drifted away our found places were it wasn't so prevalent. Northern Soul was for me the right name, at the time and I still love the term, it gives us an identity even though it has been hijacked by the d*** of late.
  24. Depends what you think of them quality wise doesn't it, there are plenty of shite pop as well as belting ๐Ÿ˜‰
  25. Not sure why she take issue over two records being labelled pop (which they are), the scene is littered with pop records.
