  1. Well hopefully I can contribute a bit more in tne future as I've just got myself a 100-400 mm lens, looking forward to getting out with it.
  2. great it is too, as you rightly say
  3. I would imagine it is the cost to them to get the releases and the mark up? A double Lp of northern classics ( Not that I would want a double Lp of Northern classics mind) was £33 to you and me....it is becoming a joke and a rip off. I bought one Lp, a reissue of Susan Phillips "Soft Sexy Soul". The original is impossible to get so had to settle for a reissue but this was 20 odd quid for 9 tracks. But it isn't just RSD, most dealers seem happy to charge 20 for a "demo" of a new release (7") when it should be cheaper than an issue, no colour used, some charge £20 for an issue and limit the number. It is just about making money first, music second.
  4. Another essential compilation, Ace/Kent just keep coming up with the goods. This one quality throughout as you would expect and again a mine of information in the booklet.
  5. Have to agree with number 2. I was looking through some RSD releases yesterday and I couldn't believe the prices for some. It just seems like a good excuse to fleece us all.
  6. It belongs to Dean Anderson, he has the original acetate. It's Leo McCarthy as well.
  7. One definately did and Andy's eventually, might have been a little less than 800?
  8. Last couple I've seen were £800 and I listed one at £800 for Andy some years ago. Fabulous double sider.

They probably laid all the tracks down in one session so conceivable that they had acetates done at the time for quality control purposes.
  10. The parent company of Sanctuary is BMG.
  11. Will definitely be in touch Sean, still after a detailed description of the place, a view from a punter P.S. The pint sounds better
  12. Cheers Pete. It was an eerie looking building from the outside.
  13. Can anyone give me a detailed description of the walk up to the building, what it looked like and of the interior. I have a coup,e of crappy pictures that are on-line but I'd sooner have a decent description from Clifton Hall nighter goer.
  14. I can only find a couple of photos of the exterior on line and they aren't very good and resolution even worse. I have one or two of the dancefloor. I do know what it was built for and when etc.
  15. It'll probably be up to today by the time I'm finished , if I finish it. There are plans for oversees scene too, Scotland as well. I will make an appeal again in the future although I did ask on here and got practically zero response.
  16. I don't think they even started work on #2 (post wigan) and can't remember chapter 6 but there is nothing of any note about what followed Wigan and the next 30 odd years.
  17. Very slowly. I've been gathering flyers of which I have 100s now, all needed naming and dating which was slow going. I'm now gathering echoes together to draw up a time line. I need to decide what period to write about, 80s, 80s and 90s or right through to today. BUT to be honest my appeal for help from promoters received very little response. The smas from peope who went to these venues. I recently asked for help in what Clifton Hall looked like, inside and out and all I got was dozens of posts on how good e place was, whatbthe gear was like and what pub theye went to before hand, nothing relating to the actual building lol

    Guy's....
  19. Gutted when I received a phone call with the news about Mick or Spinner as he was known when I first met him. We exchanged messages when he was due to go in for his op, his last words were "I'll be sorted for the summer". Sadly it isn't to be, another taken long before his time. One of lifes best, a gent who as Mark said didn't judge or look down on anyone, if you were friendly with him you got the same back in abundance. Aways had a welcoming smile, loved the music and life, he will be missed by everyone who knew him. My condolences to his wife Alison and their families at this terribly sad time R.I.P. Mick
  20. I thought this had been around since the 70s and about in decent quantity, certainly was about in the 80s as I've had it on tape since then.
  21. Cheers for the info chaps.
  22. Been looking at the 70-200 f2.8 but the 500 out of my price range unfortunately
  23. What lens are you guys using or recommend for wildlife?
  24. You should be a little more clearer with what you say. the CR in a circle is I believe the Canadian pressing plant Cinram.
