It isn't always about us in the here and now, it is the legacy you leave behind for others to carry forward. I'm afraid I have to agree with Mark S, a lot of damage has been done and it is getting to the point where it is getting beyond repair. Surely folk can't keep on listening to the same records year after year? Did they go to a night club and hear the same top forty week after week, month after month, year after year whilst they had their 20 year sabbatical away from the scene they thought had died? They wouldn't have dreamed about it. Even the records that drip feed down from the proper all-nighter scene will dry up as many are getting totally disillusioned with it all and moving on to other things. If they want to dress in ridiculous clothes, some of the worst fashion items ever seen that is up to them, but sometime soon promoters are going to have to take a look at the bigger picture and introduce different DJ's and different records. There are thousands out there totally ignored, even from the era they claim to represent.

I think I have the right take in the Dave Withers podcast in The Stafford Story Can you have a listen at the beginning of this podcast Robb and confirm? Dave Withers And Rod Shard: Forever In My Heart It is the take on the Originals Best Of cd released in 1999 I think as well.

Pete I'm set up to record as long as I want. If you want some tapes converting let me kow and ill do them and put on cd as mp3 or whatever format you want. The tape player even turns over on its own so I just let it roll and cut the blank bit in the middle out and trim. Same for anyone else with tapes they want converting.

One 60's one 70's if memory serves me correctly. Same recording though although they are different.

From the horses mouth........ John Manship tells me was on a buying trip with Mick Godfrey and he got 63 ten (10) inch acetates of unissued Motown from Simon Soussan in the late 80's, the Four Tops unissued Jazz Workshop album was also in there amongst all the good stuff. Most of the acetates were sold upon John's return to the UK. Simon Soussan had so much stock John ran out of money on the first day. The scan I posted looks like the 10 inch acetate John sold to Gary Fields who then in turn sold it to Richard Searling.

You won't see an original as one doesn't exist except for the Originals acetates. What you have is a boot with a made up group name.

I've asked countless times for tapes from the period. The tapes and recordings I do have there isn't many of Pat but what I do have I think I have the details. I am going through them as and when time allows. Most if not all are on my mixcloud page. I don't have sound files for the list either, they are from written lists.

I'm not sure Des. I've asked Pat, just waiting for a reply. Do you know any of the others in the link above?
