That would be mint plus 20% vat.
  2. One look at the bidding and it's plain they've had too much sherry over Christmas.
  3. I thought the whole show was really good. Nice to see some proper musicians/bands for a change rather than the usual Simon Cowell dross that is taking over the charts.
  4. Just watching now. Ruby Turner brilliant, Betty class act as was Cyndi Lauper.
  5. Two topics merged. Might be a free plug but plenty others use this forum for a free plug, he does also have something worthwhile to offer. Lou did ask a question as well.
  6. just added a third and final podcast which just about covers what Gary Rushbrooke played at Stafford (give or take a record or two). Thanks for taking the time to listen and download, plenty more to come in 2012. 7. Cecil and Jerry Williams, both fantastic Northern Soul from different eras, why choose, why not just listen to both and appreciate for what they are.
  8. reckon that's what it is with half the arguments about played here or there first, a wind up, some just take it too far.
  9. Leo Price - Hey Now Baby

Duke Browner, depends who is selling, anything between £250 and £400 depending on condition, bit more for demo which is rarer.
  11. The first topic has been closed though you can still read and listen to the recommendations at....
  12. Kev and Ian, two great stories, keep them coming. Fascinating bloke regardless what you think of him.
  13. Like Mike says still time to vote and still need more members to have their say so c'mon give some well deserved credit to those who have brightened up your Soul Source experience. https://www.soul-sour...ort&section=new
  14. I've started part two Rich on Dave's behalf and closed part one.
  15. Topic closed but do not despair, part two is under way
  16. would a volume two stop repeat postings? I can't see how it would? Only if you knew what was posted in each topic would you stop repeat postings. I agree it might want a new topic 30 pages a lot to go through in one topic. I can open one on Dave's behalf?
  17. I heard as I said in an earlier post that it was released without his knowledge.

Ok I'm showing my age The chorus kills it dead for me, really spoils it....I remember it from the Dome too but it was around long before then. Still think it was just a case of Dj's slowly running out of ideas for something fresh, every tune has its day eventually.

The reason it didn't take off in the mid 80's is because this is rubbish compared to some of the stuff that was being discovered back then. As stuff started to dry up this was bound to have its day. Agree with you the chorus just kills it.
  20. When was this first played on the scene?
  21. Please share them Kev, no reason for anyone to begin slagging anyone on this topic, it is a fascinating read. If it is kept to Simon and the stories and myths surrounding him then no reason for any slagging off of anyone. I've enjoyed reading the stories from all those who knew him.
  22. No but if it is was it would be a bloody expensive one. Think the reason for the boot myth is Ray Agee told someone it was released without his knowledge, just like many records back in the day, Don Gardner - Cheatin Kind another.
  23. Unless he had two he sold that one on ebay.....
  24. I can't even remember the record Richard. I'll have a dig round see if I can find a listen anywhere. Apparently the recording studio (on M-S228) is/was under the Pampa Lanes Bowling Alley, Van Dyke in Warren, Jim Bruzzese was the owner.
