I bought the CD. I also got the downloads whilst waiting for the CD to arrive. Personally I would just buy the downloads as the "booklet" is basically what you read on the web site.

The Gloria Jones version of Gone With The Wind is really good. The Jimmy McFarland takes of BMMTP I don't reckon much to them at all to be honest.

I agree Bob that is why I suggest Conrad looks at the following topic....... some excellent suggestions on the topic that will get him on his way to a decent collection of originals.

I certainly wouldn't buy one of these Big Up North discs and yes I would say Kent and Grapevine more desirable, especially for something like the Edward Hamilton (and others on the label) as it was the first legit UK release. Other labels such as Hit and Run for discs like the Tommy And The Derbys as well. If you have a list of records you wish to own maybe post a list and you will get the advice that is probably best when buying re-issues etc. Bootlegs and re-issues are a minefield better to be sure you are getting the best for your money rather than dive in. I don't think Price Guide 5 has labels like Kent and Grapevine as the are UK labels whereas the Guide is for US labels.

I can understand some wanting Ex in there but why Ex-? It is either Ex or it isn't, if not it drops too the next lower grade. I don't see the need for visual and play grades unless there is some deterioration in the sound then it should be mentioned, along with any other information, edge warp NAP, sol etc. Too many grades simply complicates the system. At the end of the day sellers are abusing the grades with vg+++++++, Ex+, Ex- and so on to get more money out of buyers.

I don't dance too often these days, not above dancing to anyone either, two dodgy knees doesn't help.

you have to admit though Dave some of the grades used are a joke, not just on here but lists, ebay or wherever a record is sold. I mean what the f*ck is vg+++++++++ or M--------- or Ex++++++++++. Half the gradings used don't exist except in the sellers mind.

Loads on Discogs on Land Of Hits with the edit on the flip, couple of Lasso re-issues too but not this one.

there has been one on ebay for ages but he won't ship to the UK...mailed him twice but no reply. Couple of others from the UK on there too but not on Wea.
