  1. maybe it has. It's always been one thats been pretty popular though and gets plenty of glances still when played.
  2. Many thanks Robb, Rod and Simon, some great info If you struggle took much with that list Rod we can always throw it open to the floor so to speak
  3. Like buses Bob, wait all day for one then three roll up. Not that common, maybe as you say coincidence several turned up at same time.
  4. I've seen this go for three figures several times and it was £75 over here 5 or 6 years ago when the other side in demand. This side known about then but more in demand these days. I paid £30 ten years ago, second copy I've had. https://www.ebay.com/...6#ht_566wt_1413
  5. The more youngsters the better as far as I'm concerned. You should reply with something like "shouldn't you be back in the home by now" or "have they just dug you up for the night". Give 'em some cocky young lip back, find a good put down always works and shuts some folk up. Hopefully no comments like the one you've been attracting will be made at Lifeline and you will be more than welcome.
  6. What year would this be Rod exactly and what else was on the tape?
  7. Have you heard the take that sounds like late 60's early 70s, slightly funky(?), wah wah guitar effects or summit like etc. Not as good as the straight 60's takes but an interesting take all the same. Simon T put up a Suspicion mix in refosoul that has 3 or 4 takes in it, unfortunately can't listen just yet.
  8. Either late 80's or early/mid 90's Pete. can remember Greg Tormo (think it was Greg) telling me how he wandered round the convention picking the record up off the floor that others discarded.
  9. Just been upstairs and re-checked the R&B Indies. Kazia and Kelly St Clair the releases but R&B Indies list it as Chicago which is wrong. Same as the Pittsburg/Detroit owned label. The Kazia one is same as 101 with the but with different flip by Kazia, not the one with Tawney Vonne as in the scan.
  10. Maybe prices are at last finding something like a natural level. For me they have been well above average since the mid to late 90's when there was a lot of spare cash about with many returnees having got rid of kids and mortgage. Still lots of examples about though of collectors paying well above the odds for a want.
  11. Pretty surge the actual lead vocal is about plus two quicker. Anyway if you slow the Presentations down a touch it is practically the same vocally. I'll dig it out later, sure there's one in sales box on AMM.

  13. I haven't seen none with labels right way. It was comped on a cd by Goldmine and it's credited Call On Me but plays the "Sorry" side.
  14. I've seen it listed as a Detroit label but according to R&B Indies out of Pittsburg, PA. Address is 621 Emlin Street. Another Millage out of Chicago too.
  15. Sounds like the one I posted in refosoul, about 15 seconds missing from the 45. Also released as The Presentations on AMM, it's a bit faster and extra horns and harmonies in it if I remember rightly.
  16. It came out of Motown on an acetate. Here's a scan posted by Andy Rix couple of months ago... reckon there's about 5 mixes of this.

I agree though she's off her head...

I bet you watched out all the way through though
  19. A record that rarely turns up and would have though lot more than the guide price?
  20. Paypal has never yet taken funds from my bank account. It has taken it from my paypal account then credit card. Usually credit cards cause rarely any funds in the paypal account. You can register as many credit cards as you wish and specify which card is to be used to pay for goods.
  21. I'd agree Marc, last one I saw for cash was either 7 or 800 quid. Whether it's worth that is another argument.
  22. There's three topics on here where we did the labels (or as many as we could name/think of) for Chicago, Detroit and New York. I can send you the lists as excel files if any good.

Too late Brett me thinks. Just thought others might be interested in where/why/why etc. I knew of it's use in records before vinyl etc and of its use in paints, varnish etc. Couldn't remember where it came from so rechecked
