  1. Got to agree Malc, one of the greatest soul recordings of all time.

There's been some great DJ's but for me the best of all time has to be Butch. He was top in the mid 80's and he's still there. The mid to late 80's/early 90's (after Keb and Guy) no one came close to him with the quality and quantity of new discoveries. Still the same the last ten years or so. Only Andy Dyson in recent years close to him in terms of discoveries. Aside from Guy and Keb, Pat Brady had one of the best sets mid 80's, Kitch and Dean not far behind, Gary Spencer, Carl Fortnum and of course Rob Marriott....and more all playing some top quality 60's newies!! I've beeen spoilt over the years.
  3. Judge for yourself which is best. The labels LeMco.
  4. This only used to be £30 when it was really indemand some years ago, why has it doubled (and more in some cases) In price now? I see comments about other records being worth no more than £30 what is different with this one?

I would have thought Al Hughes would be £250ish nowadays for a decent copy. Seen copy's go cheaper but not on the best of nick. Think you are talking bout the satisfactions Gray, different record though.
  6. £250 the last one I saw, put it on a list for Andy Dyson. Great record too!
  7. number two is only when it goes against the person who is buying. Many times I see wants but the price prepared to pay is far short of a realistic value. Once I replied stating a realistic £75 for the particular want only for the person who wanted the record to reply I was only willing to pay £25 I don't bother replying to most wants now. But why would anyone put up a price they are willing to pay, if you had the record for sale cheaper you are gonna bump up your price? I do agree its only manners to reply to someone who has taken the trouble to reply to a want request.
  8. I bet she's lovin' all this free advertising you lot are giving her
  9. I used to have it years ago. Always though it was a cheapie. Never really looked for it since though.
  10. this guy has scans of some cds, there is a fortune one in there. He does mention he doesn't sell cds? https://www.lexjansen...tune/covers.htm https://www.lexjansen.com/fortune/
  11. one of the best comments/insult I've seen for a while
  12. the edit has been edited, there's over 30 seconds missing. The "full" edit is on its way........ The full version is basically the full track, 2 min 33 secs then the track runs backwards, giving you over 5 minutes. I have the full version too but will the upload take 41mb?
  13. black "A" usually a boot, pink/red "A" is original.
  14. I'll have this on the shelf, will have to dig it out and refresh the grey matter.
  15. I've played it out pretty regular Kenny and it packed the floor at two Radcliffe nighters I've DJ'ed at!
  16. Lee Tillman is known, he has a few on that label, I've got Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye somewhere. It is listed in R&B indies.
  17. its not too fast its just you getting older and slower mate
  18. I play it now and then when I get the chance, last time Boxing day nighter at Radcliffe and it packed the floor, one of best records ever!!!!
  19. I use Timmion Phil, https://www.timmion.com/cutting they are metal acetates, better sound quality than vinyl carvers too. Think they are about 28 euros for two sides which includes postage. You send them a wav file via yousendit and they send the dubplate back within a week (usually).
  20. it all depends what you are doing with them Pete doesn't it. Using them under the pretence you were there or simply collecting. There are 1000's that simply collect medals, there is a couple of stalls on Chesterfield Market on a Thursday that sells stuff like that. I do agree you shouldn't buy the badges, medal, whatever then walk around with them but why can't you collect them? People collect many things to do with the northern soul scene, not just records. Will the soul police fine all the soulies with Wigan badges that weren't there?
  21. Does that mean you had to be there when a record was pressed to appreciate it Some people simply collect memorabilia.
  22. try asking on web forums. Plenty of stuff, even records that turn out to be common that aren't documented in the usual places. Do you have any examples of the stuff you want to price?
