I thought it was one of Gary's but a bit later than Casino. Cheers for that Know Gary Dean was a Gary Spencer biggie, but not sure if it got spins earlier.

No not them two... Gary Dean You Can Say and Gary Sole - Holdin' On. Who first played 'em and where?
  7. The Uptones on Watts (The Taken For A Ride side anyway) is the Saints according to Soul Harmony Singles with members Carlton Beck (lead) formerly of the Senders, The Swallows on Guyden and The Guides, later of the Hollywood Saxons, The Professionals and Speed Limit, Richard Betts (Baritone) later of Speedlimit plus unknown members. Dunno if the rest of The Uptones output is the Saints. No mention of who is in the Saints in the book.

wasn't this listing discussed on here some time ago? sure someone will find it if it was.
  9. there are some links HERE Benji but rapid share was unavailable to free users at the time of trying. Dunno if tyhe links lead to the original short film or not. Will try again later unless someone has membership to rapidshare, mine ran out over Christmas and I didn't renew.

  11. I wouldn't call them realistic though, there is just one on there since 2006 and ebay hardly realistic in its prices. One on there for $393 from 2009 which if it was in pounds would be something more like a realistic price. The one before that is from 2006!
  12. Is Swampp on here? I know he posts to KTF now and then.
  13. Dunno if I know the Fiestas Railroad Song but the flip Broken Heart is a good record, got spins mid 80' (if it's the one I'm thinking of).
  14. aye, not be far off at that Kenny. Could always buy the lp, shouldn't even cost a ton for that. Cracking record one of my all time fave 70's tracks.

aren't there additional costs with Gemm which are then passed on to customer by the seller? Whenever I've sourced through Gemm I've usually bought from the seller privately to get round the extra cost.

Dave Flynn's site has a long list of records and what they were covered up as.... https://www.anorakscorner.com/CoverUps.html
  20. Morning Gimme the Martells and Melvin Brown any day over the Sheepherders. Never really taken to the Sheepherders, rarity over quality IMO.
  21. It has been picked up and played by others, has been a regular spin out and about for a few years now. I wouldn't say it was a tad overlooked when it fetched $2400+ and it got more views than the Martells.
  22. Do you know which issue of Shades of Soul the article is in? I'll dig it out and scan it. I don't doubt Dan's article, he did the research, Robert Holmes is credited on both the discs.
  23. is there an article about the Hytones, wasn't Dan involved?????? or am I thinking of summat else?
  24. it was before Bretby Ted, few years before. Would be mid 80's...'87? You are right with the Escorts. Rob later got it off Steve, Remember Rob playing this at 100 Club three times in one set!

this one is to be precise Silas Phifer and the Mellow Fellows and Edwin Johnson & The Mellow Fellows. They are the Mello Souls. Not a great record mind, either side. Sound clips are in refosoul.
