  1. The Tribute to Lamont was shockingly bad, embarrassing. However, "When Motown Came To Britain" was excellent.
  2. Thanks for reminding me of the Lamont show. hopefully I’ll still be functioning.
  3. Its real, the stamp is that of the pressing plant, MSIco

There is no evidence, some member on discogs as simply said they are the same with no evidence. I've asked the question on there how they can link two arstists with no proof. I Asked the guy to provide some proof but no reply. Will see if the fools behind discogs get back to me. Someone has met Al Scott and he was black.

    Thank you very much, appreciated
  7. Who is who in your photo in the opening post Chris?
  8. Wasn't sure who in the original photo Chris posted was Norman. I was assuming it was he on the right? Great group which can be under appreciated on our scene in the quest for rarity and obscurity. The CD with all the out takes is great listening.

  11. It's one of the Ad-Libs
  12. Sad news. Been a bad week.
  13. Last nights show 22nd December. Merry Christmas to all the Sound of Soul listeners.
  14. Thye sad news just keeps coming with the death of legendary Philadelphia Soul Man Thom Bell. R.I.P. and thank you for the music https://www.soultracks.com/story-thom-bell-dies (December 22, 2022) We are devastated to share the news of the passing of the iconic producer, arranger and songwriter Thom Bell, at age 79, as reported by Philadelphia station WDAS-FM. Much of Soul music history over the last half century has revolved around great producer/artist combinations. But no combination was more pleasing than the work of the Spinners and producer Thom Bell from 1972-77. With "Mighty Three" partners Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, Bell created the Sound of Philadelphia, the most important and dominant sound of the early and mid 70s, and the heir to the dominant Motown sound of the 60s. And as a songwriter, producer and arranger, Bell established himself as one of the most important Soul music figures of all time.
  15. That's the trouble when they all sit with Djs. I remember when the batch of 19 turned up, they practically all went to the big Djs and the same for most of the subsequent ones since. Djs don't know how to look after a record. They think because they pay a lot of money it should be played at every opportunity. Still a rare record.
  16. More often than not records like this, in demand floor fillers, it usually makes little difference where they came from unless on a UK copy. DJs will pay what it takes to get them.
  17. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2022 Mike and to the team as well.
  18. Noticed @Zanetti is MIA this week and not posted John's latest auction results? Just browsing them this morning so I thought I'd post them up for him.
