Fantastic record 'Arry Here's another cheapie that along with Oliver Norman is now getting requested when I'm out spinning a few....JJ Daniels - Mr Lonesome - Sureshot (£30/40). Also Benny Latimore - Girl I Got News For You - Dade (£20 or so) which I've played out last few years.

no they are mid tempo, same as June Jackson, too quick for a ballad IMO. Would you call a ballad mid tempo? I wouldn't. Beat Ballad to me is exactly what it says, a ballad with a beat bu slower tha mid tempo. Many of those listed are not what I would call a beat ballad, simply mid tempo.

No it ain't that bad. The playing of "new" records several times has always gone on hasn't it? even when it was easier to "break" a record to the scene.
