How Long
I always record to wav and for saving convert to an mp3 of 224kbps, thats a compression rate of 6:1 I think off top of me head When posting on places like here I convert to mp3 pro with a bit rate of 40kbps.

Record Prices?
doesn't even show all the auctions either. e-bay (and therefore popsike) not really a very good reflection of the actual price IMHO.

Angel Doll
£30 kin ell pretty certain they cost £30 back in the 80's from Rob Marriott. Think they only did 300, maybe less I got two copies at the time, one for myself and one for John Kingan. There's an awesome version by Vernon Garrett that both Andy Dyson and myself have given plenty of turntable action too in recent times. Pretty cheap too

How Long
I forget the exact compression rate but it's something like 14:1 (may even be 17:1) before any audible loss of quality. That will still give you a decent size mp3 for listening pleasure on any media, home or car. I doubt very much you can notice little if any loss in quality at an mp3 with a bit rate of 128kbps, thats decent enough for most car mp3 cd's.

Eric & The Vikings To High Fashion ?
Kae is Kae's sons name as well I think Junior, the record label named after him. Oops.... just read Steve G's post who confirmed my belief

Barbara Stant - My Mind Holds On To Yesterday - Shiptown
(I Found Me A) Real Man maybe. Her Unsatisfied Woman is good too but none IMHO come close to My Mind Holds On To yesterday. Just checked with a pla and he reckons around £250 so if you see one at a ton grab it!!!!!

Barbara Stant - My Mind Holds On To Yesterday - Shiptown
I would say it would be at least that in pounds not just dollars. There's one on popsike from 2004 at $361, there's been quite a few more since then though on ebay for a lot more. I've seen this sell for £400 last couple years and sold on average for around £250. Not seen one listed or in a box for few months though. Fantastic 70's dancer!!!!

Volcanos "love Is Alright"
Let me see if I can remember and get this right...... The Volcanos version on Soulclub isn't the take covered as the Volcanos...the Jesse James on Soulclub is the one if I remember rightly that was covered as The Volcanos by Butch. The one thats on there as the Volcanos is the version Kenny has....I think
-
Volcanos "love Is Alright"
Cliff Nobles "Love is alright" is the same record as the Jesse James (Volcanos) only finished as Jesse James wanted it done.

Newbie! Hello - Valuations?
Jeanette should be no more than 250/300 IMHO. Thats far too much as well for a record thats often seen for sale far more than many £50 records!!!!

Detroit Item Wanted
It may have done Simon, the clip I posted was taken directly from an Act IV disc I've never heard an Act IV one the same as the mid town release, always assumed same as one I posted!
-
Celeste Hardie You're Gone
have seen at £400, whether it sold I dunno, listed one few months back for Andy, can't remember price but feeling it might have been £350...and that one sold.
-
Detroit Item Wanted
The Embers, backing harmony slightly different if you ask me and a different member on lead (if not slightly deeper voiced on this production)....Mid Town one sounds a bit more polished. Embers___You_Can_Lump_It.mp3
-
Detroit Item Wanted
They also recorded as the Embers on Act IV - You can Lump It which also came out on Midtown, different lead if memory serves me correctly

Any Great New Discoveries This Year?
Sam's about the 4th or 5th DJ to get the Parliaments (more on their way). Apart from being a f*cking great record and one of best discoveries for years, what made it even more appealing was you could only hear this when Butch was DJing. It was like years ago when you could only hear something like this on your travels, record like this keep it fresh and worth the travel. It'll soon be hammered...and will rank alongside many other great records that you get sick of hearing and can't be arsed to travel to hear let alone get up and dance to it What happened to DJ's having their own identity and sounds?
