£250 is probably about right, certainly don't think it should be much more, cheaper if owt. Been loads in ther past and by the looks of it loads in the future.
  2. gernerally they aren't uptempo. they are records from the late 60's to probably'73/'74/'75 that don't fit into the general description of your traditional northern, 70's modern dancers...all IMO of course.
  3. You're the only one - bonnie balnchard & andy aaron - crs see you later yooof
  4. last one I saw was £70. Always get asked to spin this.
  5. Just for you Dean, and Pete of course. Gotta agree Pete's sadly missed, can't believe it's 14 years RIP Pete.
  6. How Can I Keep From Crying - charles perry - magnum

I've seen and heard the Donel Austin, pretty sure I have, but can't remember bugger all about it so probably not much use to you Mel
  8. Don't think I've heard LIAP played out although I've been playing the flip for last couple of years and now starting to get the recognition it deserves.
  9. track 3 is Kurtis Scott - Build Build Build - Happenin'
  10. £300 for a record you rarely see? Loads of records you see regularly, often on a weekly basis that for some reason are fetching far more. I personally rate it more than £300 but probably a victim of it's obscurity, that and the fact no f*cker can keep up with it these days

it's fabulous, class record IMHO, you'll get a copy for around £30
  12. I've seen a George Tindley recently but can't remember who or where could have been Shifty
  13. I'd just like to state that my comments were not aimed at JT. I only quoted James to get my opinion over sorry for any confusion and mis understanding JT.
  14. Records don't have to cost 100' and 100's, nor do you have to trade 'em in every few months or whatever just to keep the dancers happy and your set fresh. JT says a dj isn't up to it if he doesn't adhere to this practise, well I say a Dj isn't up to it if he has to do it this way, and again this isn't aimed at you JT as I know you are up to it. If you have the money anyone can go out and buy indemander and rarity after rarity, no thought or imaginmation is needed to do this. I'd sooner hear a Dj who uses their knowledge and puts some thought and imagination in to his or her set and not their wallet. I've heard any a Dj with so called hot boxes who have doen some awful sets.
  15. Well said I've heard many a DJ with a so called hot box who couldn't put a set together to save their life. The northern scene isn't just about £1000 rarities. I'd sooner here a DJ who cares about the music enough to want to own and cherish the record not own so he can have bragging rights or feed an ego. I've read some crap in my time but this and the hot box topic contains some of the best crap

  17. gotta agree with ya Dodger, on both counts
  18. maybe sellers should start putting proper prices on discs and sell by set sales many had it pretty good as far as e-bay concerned and the general price of records with many getting way above a realistic price for discs that aren't even mint in the past.
  19. presume you are still on about You're The Dream? probably a cut/acetate with made up label? Sure Dave worked for Charley when they put the lp out. The one Guy played in the mid 80's was a different take.
  20. I've not read all this topic so apologies if already mentioned but Martin Thomson has a free (I think) alternative that he was talking of winding up due to lack of interest.... HERE
  21. Can't remember the size of the disc but decca acetate.
  22. it's unissued on a 45
