John said the same in discussion at Cleethorpes, anything with a copies that weren't selling went in the packs.

The date of 1976 is written on the label. I don't know where whoever entered the date on 45cat got their info from? It is obvious to me what John meant. Probably not the kinda record for 1976 most were looking for I guess.

I think it is referring to it release year although I believe it was from 1978 and not when Sam was playing it. Sam biggie in the 80s, may have been at Snaith in early 80s but certainly getting spins at Rock City.

Whilst I agree in part there are still thousands of quality records that are affordable to the Dj. However most are sheep and have no imagination, most are too idle to go searching and digging, that is why the Northern scene has become so stale and retro. Dancers are no better, afraid to dance to something they don't know....gods know how they went on at Wigan and such places...I think I know the answer to that 😆

Value Of A Complete Run Of Ric Tic Label?
The GW number is the master/matrix number, used by the pressing plant. They aren’t Golden World labelled releases, the label is Ric Tic only and the catalogue number is the Ric Tic number although they are the same number. They were pressed at ARP. The rest of the releases were pressed at Columbia and RCA and carry their master number, ZTSC etc.

Ric Tic 102
It is a Golden World Recording, the early Ric Tic tie in with the GW numbering system. The later Rics Tics used the Columbia and RCA master number, ZTSC etc. Other groups of labels also utilised one numbering system across the label and subsidiaries.

Chubby Checker - You Just Don't Know original releases?
East Coast Test Press. Bell Sound stamp and Cameo labels used but reversed obviously to utilise the blank side. Anyone have the delta number of the west coast press? Both sides

Chubby Checker - You Just Don't Know original releases?
Never issued in the USA. The 1st one, white label promo that escaped is West Coast pressed by Monarch.

The Hill District 'Your Scared Of Falling In Love' b/w Richie Merrett 'You'll Always Have Yesterday'
Just incase you missed this great release, still some copies left. Get one before they are all gone.

Interesting development of the scene?
You are probably right it is a tad harsh. At the end of the day it's each to their own. As long as everyone enjoy's what they do then everything is fine. As I said not for me and I would generally avoid that kind of gig.

Interesting development of the scene?
I've heard one or two and they were terrible, murdered classic Northern. I generally associate them with handbagger and div events. They aren't for traditionalists and have no effect on what I do or where I go. I would generally avoid any event with one on. But Northern seems to be a popular bandwagon to jump on so I expect to see more of this kind of rubbish.

It's what's in the groove that counts...or is it?
But one-upmanship was about playing an exclusive or one of just a few, not one of 300/500 or even a 1000.
