VERY old Blues & Soul Magazine issues WANTED
Michael, I have the following numbers. All are in really nice condition with no rips or tears. No yellowing to the pages. Only No. 7 and 17 has a some very slight creasing to the cover, but thought best to mention it. When you flick through some of the pages it is dead weird because it just transports you back in time and I was thinking I remember that, I went there, I bought that ! I know some of the numbers you already have but if you need cleaner copies to replace then these are all in nice condition, especially for nearly 60 years old. Just let me know what you think. Regards Kev The numbers are, 6, 7, 8, 11 to 23 inclusive.

His contribution to The Motown Sound was incredible. So much hard work that he put in and so much research. It was very much appreciated. R.I.P Keith and condolences to Keith's family.

Worst Record Shop Experiences?
Hi Mal, I went into a record shop in Toronto and what started as a worst experience turned out to be a great experience. The shop was full of all genres of albums, all very nice but all way overpriced. I asked if there were any singles/45s and the guy said in the basement. I went down there and I found boxes and boxes of unplayed records. After about 2 hours of The Partridge Family, Perry Como, The Osmonds and other great delights I came to the last box. In the last few records were Bill Harris, Kurt Harris, Mighty Pope and a Barbara Mcnair. I went upstairs and asked the price. He said "I will just go on the computer and check the values as I know nothing about 45s". My heart sank as he went into the office. Out he came and said the computer has crashed and you will have to come back later. I said that I couldn't as I was due to meet my wife who had gone shopping in the mall. He pulled a awkward face and said "How about $30 for the four" I could have hugged him. I paid the $30 canadian and made a sharp exit. Regards Kev

Worst Record Shop Experiences?
Dave, Was the guy on the small side and probably in his 40s or 50s then. I went into a shop in Pittsburgh and the guy said are you a Brit and I said no I'm Welsh. He said that's ok then as I didn't think he knew where Wales was. He said take no notice of the prices on the covers as I will do you a great deal. I picked out about 15 singles and went to the counter. He had a pencil behind his ear and put in his hand and started re-marking the prices on the sleeves as double. I asked what he was doing and said the prices were old and needed to be updated. I said forget it and started to walk out of the shop. He started following me and said your are a Brit just trying to rip people off, so F off out of my shop. Gutted really as there were some nice records, but hey the principle of it all. Kev

Soul Connected Films - Cream Of The Crop List...
I would like to nominate The Five Heartbeats. A great movie and some brilliant songs and dance moves. Possibly based around The Temptations.

The Main Ingredient - Magic Shoes
Great 70s from The Main Ingredient. On US RCA in birth sleeve. The record is EX+ but has a very small mark in the fade out where the music fades out and there are about 5 very small clicks. Not sure if it is some slight glue residue but I have left it as is. Apart from that, the record plays great all the way through. £35 plus £2. 50 postage signed for.

Bruce Springsteen does Frank Wilson, give me strength!
I have the greatest respect for Bruce Springsteen. A great singer, songwriter artist and performer, but sorry his latest release is ! ! ! oh dear. I heard it on Steve Wright yesterday afternoon and thought what next. Maybe Liz Truss and Keir Starmer doing a cover version of TWO CAN HAVE A PARTY (Well it's not really a Party) or even Boris Johnson covering Cloud Nine. Motown is always good to make a few bob for some people. Only my humble opinion. Kev
