  1. £110? I'll take ten please. I'd say £200 would be nearer the mark. Totally love the flipside on this...
  2. I think the first press is plain blocky text logo with an orange label, and there's a yellow label with a more ornate text logo and the cartoon of the girl. And there's a third label design with green and white diagonal stripes and the cartoon girl. I'm pretty sure they would all have been pressed round about the same time...
  3. Great track, kinda scary to think that playing a "recent" record like this now (already 11 years old) is actually MORE retro than plenty of records which got played at the Wigan Casino in the early 70s...
  4. I think that clip of Get Ready you have is an earlier take. The Grounation one sounds later:
  5. Looks great, although obviously tinged with sadness. Reading Chalky's original thread via the link, I'm glad to see that Bob was aware of the esteem he and his show were held in...
  6. Could this be the hardest promoted flop record ever released? It's crazy that the record got pressed with at least six label variations at various plants - and then the label had another go in 1973. Somebody obviously had a lot of faith in Mr Ingram, quite rightly as history has proved!

Sorry to come across as negative, but the 78 collecting scene is very fickle - and despite what price guides say, the number of collectors is dwindling and prices dropping. A quick check of ebay shows Reet Petites selling for an average of a fiver. Could be a lot of work for not a huge return... https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=jackie%20wilson%20reet%2078&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684
  8. For sale: TIMEBOX "Beggin'" b/w "A Woman That's Waiting" (UK Deram) M- £50 Lovely clean copy of this mod-soul floorpacker, in Deram company bag. Paypal preferred, postage extra, PM to reserve. Thanks for looking!
  9. Come to Scotland!
  10. It was established that the owner sadly passed away over a year ago.
  11. For sale: ZZ Hill "Make Me Yours" b/w "What Am I Living For" (UK Action ACT 4532) VG NOC £50 Great UK only 45 cover of Bettye Swann. Vinyl has lots of scuffs and some light marks, but plays near enough EX with just some light background static. I hesitate to say "perfect for DJing" but... perfect for DJing. Centre has been dinked and some small writing at top (red felt tip, so not the worst). Recently fetched £180 on Manship auction, sold last week by Pete Smith for £150 - grab a bargain! Paypal preferred, PM if interested. Thanks for looking!
  12. Thanks - would love to buy direct, but postage from the US is getting crazy!
  13. I'm looking for a nice copy of Ruby Andrews "Wonderful Nite" (Zodiac) if any kind soul can help out... Any PMs much appreciated!

https://contact.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ReturnUserIdHistory&requested=45-heaven Actually was looking at another 45 on ebay and thought "I recognise that seller name" but upon checking, the Timi Yuro seller has just changed their username to "45-heaven" a few days ago, no doubt to look like they're an established soul dealer. Very naughty indeed. And bids up to £280 already...

Looks like Lovejoy has properly been at work on that with some sandpaper, and some nice staining on the label. The wee yellow stickers and original company bag are a nice touch, too. Chancer...
  16. Copy just finished on Manship auction for £179 - reckon £50 is a decent price!
  17. If you need it in a hurry, sure I have this somewhere...
  18. And, err, just to add to the mystery - has anyone seen the rubber stamp (is it a rubber stamp?) under the SIDE ONE text on the latest copies? Would seem a strange move, to add extra text if you were trying to replicate and original (or whatever it's deemed to be) - or an elaborate double bluff. Will we ever know the truth? EDIT: https://www.popsike.com/php/detaildatar.php?itemnr=370244166857 yes, they have turned up with the rubber stamp before...
  19. I presumed since this thread was started on 1st April it was an April's Fool. The subject of FH3 is like a stuck record, just the same half-baked speculation and rumours endlessly going round and round. Different coloured labels, different thicknesses, conspiracy theories that it's an unreleased track pressed from mastertapes in the 90s, conjecture that since all the copies came from a dealer who's known to bootleg hence it's a bootleg etc etc. Did Butch not reply to one of the countless threads? I, like many, wish the truth would finally be documented and preserved once and for all. One thing which is above debate is: what an absolutely magnificent track! (cue: "I've never liked it, always thought the vocal was weak and the backing was a sub-Tighten Up rip-off..." )
  20. For sale: ZZ Hill "Make Me Yours" b/w "What Am I Living For" (UK Action ACT 4532) VG NOC £50 (inc. UK P&P) Great UK only 45 cover of Bettye Swann. Vinyl has lots of scuffs and some light marks, but plays near enough EX with just some light background static. I hesitate to say "perfect for DJing" but... perfect for DJing. Centre has been dinked and some small writing at top (red felt tip, so not the worst). Regularly sells for well over £100, so priced at half price for quick sale. Paypal preferred, PM if interested. Thanks for looking!
  21. Always loved other Russ Titelman tracks like The Inspirations "What Am I Gonna Do With You (Hey Baby)" (flip of Touch Me Hold Me Kiss Me) and The Cinderellas "Please Don't Wake Me" (flip of Baby Baby)...
  22. Just wondering if The Cookies "I Never Dreamed" was ever played on any scenes? One of my favourite girl group sounds, it seems to tick all the right boxes (great vocal, mid-tempo, last release by the band so reasonably hard to pick up...) - is it known? Or considered too girly? Or falls into the "well known group with big hits" under-the-radar category?
  23. I also wondered about the change in title, but always thought "Find Yourself Another Man" was a strange title since... why would the guy she's singing to want to find himself another... man? Presumably a mistake which was later rectified to "Don't Make Me Get Another Man"... Great track, always wondered if it got northern spins - I bought it as a straight up funk 45, but can hear potential...
  24. Might as well give is a third and final bump before wallowing in the depths of despair. Mary Clark, will you ever be mine? Any help VERY much appreciated...
