  5. Which one do you mean?
  6. Another Duke 45 from me to follow Martyn, lovely laid back crossover from Bobby Bland 'That's all there is (there ain't no more)
  7. Love this one at the moment - the new 'Kiss my love goodbye'? That used to be a £5 record too Dionne Warwick 'Once you hit the road' (Warner Bros)
  8. Chris Turnbull posted a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
There's a few NM copies on discogs for £35 give or take
  9. Give this one a go Martyn, Ivan Boogaloo Jones 'Black Whip' (Prestige) - reckon it would sit nicely alongside some of your Latin tunes as an early doors spin
  10. I am a bit of a jazz fan on the quiet Been spinning this one a lot recently, Billy Taylor Trio 'Sunny' (Tower)
  11. Hi Martyn, it starts like 'Running a losing race', also by him - is that what you're thinking of?
  12. Better get some work done now lol
  13. At the risk of sounding like a trainspotter she sings a slightly different melody in places i.e. first line of the last verse 'Oh gotta keep going' (1.37 or so on the clip). On the 45 the two syllables of 'Going' have different notes i.e. she drops down to the 'ing', whereas on the film she sings the same note for both. You see if I'm right Great clip either way
  14. If she's miming it's not to the 45 though - same backing but a slightly different vocal in places and not as well produced, plus she improvises live several times Love The Hef with his pipe at the start, like an Austin Powers type spoof
  15. Love this Martyn, need to find one Rick is right, reminds me of Batman running around with the unexploded bomb

  17. lol great minds etc What are the other two?
  18. Been checking out some tunes in old issues of the excellent 'New Blackbeat' and this is mentioned as a Sam spin from late '82. Just awesome - has it seen much action in recent years? Can't be many around judging by previous mentions on here i.e. JM auctioned it for almost £3k. Sounds like a Butch tune to me. Need to get saving up
  19. What about the weekend itself - how was that?
  20. Thanks Sam, will PM you
  21. Maybe just me but I love this one The O'Jays 'I Love America' (PIR)

Tiny label tear on 'You got' side. Vinyl clean and shiny but has some funny kind of light stripy marks on both sides, a bit like some kind of lacquer. Doesn't affect play at all, just looks a bit strange under a strong light. As I say happy to refund 100% if not happy. 4) Tommy Tucker - That's how much (Festival DJ) Ex £50 Fabulous multi-coloured DJ copy, very slight label wear but overall very clean 5) Connie Questell - Don't let it break your heart (Decca black issue) Ex £30 Killer beat ballad 6) Herman Griffin - Dream Girl (Mercury WD) VG+ £50 ON HOLD Few light marks NAP. Van McCoy magic 7) Lovemasters - Pushin' and Pullin' (Jacklyn) Ex £25 ON HOLD 8) Troy Keyes - You told your story (ABC WD) Ex £20
  23. Several copies on discogs, all £35 - £45
  24. Hi Paul, thanks for the info - Martyn who put me onto this was also raving about 'Signs' but I hadn't really appreciated it - top tune though, you are right. What a double sider 'Boom Boom' for me though just sounds totally on the money for now
  25. Thanks for the input - as I said earlier the vinyl etc just looks more recent to me than 1974 e.g. cueing / deadwax at the start quite deep compared with most older 45's, more like something from the late 80's or early 90's - just a gut feel. I'm with Bo Diddley and would feel more settled with a Blue 'Un'
