Cardiac Arrest Northern Soul
One that springs to mind is James Wesley Smith "Talkin about woman" Or is it just the beat that makes dancing to it slightly difficult to keep up with?

Happy Anniversary The 6Ts Rhythm And Soul Society
Cant agree with you more Mr Elliott. Has always been a priviledge and hats off to you Ady et al for your sterling work over these years, it is appreciated by so many. Long gone are the days of Invictaway coaches from Ditton corner and trying to get a half fare but there is still that excitement and so many great memories....long may they continue. Something tells me little Sam has been keeping you up bud . Have a safe journey down to the smoke. Lee

Johnnie Carter Dells Dies
Just logged on to Refrosoul soul and played The love we had.....and then read about Johnnie Cs death . Awful news. A loss to the world of music, and yes probably the greatest of all the groups that we all have been priviledged enough to have known and enjoyed. RIP x

I Rate This As One Of The Rarest 45's I've Ever Had
I did indeed Mr Elliott....always laugh about the fact that when Jim and I were at the 100 Club some waster offered to do an exchange for "chemicals" for a copy :wanker: . No ta and I wasnt even wearing a lab coat!

I Rate This As One Of The Rarest 45's I've Ever Had
Well Jules, dont believe all that you hear....I infact only got 5 copys of "You can't mean it" one of which still sits in my collection, the rest are long gone. No "One in a million" demos. And as for being a band member... lolol a 38 year old Kentish one...no, where the hell did that come from? Actually I never saw the article but would be keen on seeing it if anybody has a copy.

Broken English....whats The Score?
Following what was yet another fantastic Soul Essence weekender (all to quickly over with) Soul Sam played a rather choice tune by Broken English with the title eluding me but I think it may have been "Whats the difference" or something similar on Pesante records....perhaps out of New Jersey?? Anybody got any info? And even better a sound clip. Cheers Lee

The Delfonics
Yep, a choice tune which has been around for a while now, first heard to me via Kent CD "Deeper in the Philly Groove" (which can only be highly recommended) and then promptly picked up on 45 for pennies.

Hi Darryl and welcome to Soul Sorce. Glad to hear that after 40 years of not knowing the popularity of in particular the legendary "Name it and claim it" that you will be able to feel as deep sense of achievement in your recording at Wand....it always has been and always will be a classic tune to so many. Here's hoping you will be able to share your memories of it. With best regards Lee

Sad News Richard Popcorn Wylie RIP
Richard Popcorn Wylie is a legend and icon to all of us lovers of music. His passing is a very sad event and like so many before me I send my sincere condolences to his family for their painful loss. I truly believe that we are lucky bunch of people. We are very very priviledged. We have all experienced and love his musical works and that love will last a lifetime. So despite his passing, Mr Wylie will live on through us and thats a wonderful thing. RIP Popcorn

Goldsoul- Inspirational Thinking?
As a young un of 36 years with limited knowledge of any of the events concerning KR, my impression and opinion was formed by the following encounter and it is perhaps representative of some of the words that have already been typed - Blackpool weekender, whatever year. Frank Wilson signing a particular book. KR with the words to me and a buddy as we went to queue to chuck our ta very much in.... "You havent got / bought a book so you cant talk to FW" Opinion formed, never been back since. Its not a case of cutting ones nose to spite the face. More a case of have some respect for those who have and do line your pocket. As for investing in Northern souls future..lolol...well lets just say with comments like that I am glad you are not managing my money!

Chapter Five - You Can't Mean It
I think I might have told this before but I can remember as a young office clerk in the late 8ts / early 9ts sitting at my desk in my lunch hour absorbing a soulzine wondering as to how I could pick a copy of this 45 without paying too much for it...so I placed an ad in the local rag up in Carlisle telling some porkie about looking for a copy of "You cant mean it" saying it was my Dads fave 45 and wanting to obtain a copy for his birthday! Ok it was slightly dishonest but hey needs must and bingo...ended up with 5 copies for a total of about £100...including an absolute minter which was £60. 4 copies were sold on and the proceeds went on buying Les Chansonettes I think, the mint copy remains tucked away. Don't surpose anybody ever saw the ad ?
